hmm, probably 40-50k, thats no bull**** either. Team never full. 9 pecan pies alone is about 27k, add tubs of pb, jam, chocolate.
You ate 9 large pecan pies in 1 day?

    Since logging on mfp 1500.

Before, I could and would eat 6000+ calories a day some days, especially on the weekends.

I cant even fathom how people have gone over by 3000+. I can kind of understand going over by a 1000 if you went out to eat and had some really crappy food for one meal or had way too much alcohol but I think i'd get sick eating more than that.

I have never gone over by more than 300 and that was when I was eating 1200 daily and I think it was on some holiday.

In that case, I'm confused as to why you're on this site. Clearly not to lose weight or drop body fat, since the idea of overeating is nigh impossible for you.
Aw, be fair. There are other ways to gain weight besides binges. Think about it: an average of 300 extra calories a day would add over 30 pounds a year. That's 3 tablespoons of butter, or a couple slices of bread. It's 3 apples! Or you could eat exactly at maintenance 5 days a week, and on the weekend have two restaurant meals with a couple of drinks each that would put you the same 2100 calories over for the week. Gaining weight is easy-peasy, even without 8,000-calorie days. At least it was for me.

Thats exactly it. I was never a binge eater. I bever gorged on insane amount of foods. I gained about 40 lbs over 8 years. It came on slowly because I didnt understand calories whatsoever. I always ate small portions for my meals, never had second plates etc... but some people cook everything in butter and oil, i love bread and would eat a gigantic piece with my meal, I used to fill up a bowl with chips and dip etc.... it's the little things that add up over time.

So far, 500 or so? But that will change; this post was exactly what I needed to see as I prepare for a eating-and-drinking filled weekend I've been looking forward to all month- my first true "whatever I want" couple of days since really starting to work at this, and even then, I'm sure I'll show restraint, because I'm a bit afraid of a digestive protest.

But this helps me keep in mind that after the fun is done, sounds like people are still reaching goals, and that short-term damage is temporary. Bring on the weekend, Bailey's, and Cadbury Eggs!
  • Not tracked, but several thousand easily. And you know what? I'm not even mad.

And those who only claim "a few hundred". Sorry, you didn't get here by eating that little.

100 calories, but i've only been at it for 5 weeks, and usually well under, probably even under eating if anything
exercise on the other hand well over. i did 15000 in the first week. was going twice a day plus walking at night. but i was on holidays then and had a workout buddy
  • Last night was probably 2500 (I was starving and I didn't eat enough the day before). I'm sure nights when I was out drinking it was probably easily 2000+ JUST in alcohol. It is what it is... I occasionally spend too much on shoes and purses, and I do the same with food.

My girlfriend from Jersey came down to visit me and the family. With her she brought a bottle of Moscato from France and some homemade Coquito, which some call Puerto Rican eggnog (coconut milk, coconut cream, sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon, vanilla and a whole lotta Bacardi rum). Thick, creamy and sweet! I drank every last bit of both. I have no idea how much I was over that day. Probably between 3-5000 calories, possibly more.

Then I had the nerve to start making my own and drinking it all.:drinker:

I had 2 days in March that I was over by a lot. One day I hit 6000 calories (6+ beers, cuban sandwich, chicken wings, 3 gourmet popsicles, fries 3x with spicy ranch dip poured all over, a box of macarons, pizza, fruit, etc.). Another day I was less than that, only about 4000 calories, but not that much less (sensible breakfast, sensible lunch, 10 oz steak and lobster dinner, still under with that....THEN, world of beer and 5 beers and then Wendy's double, small fries and small chocolate frosty after that).

Binge days don't ruin things if you're careful and allot for them. I didn't log these days, but I accounted for them in my overall monthly plan, upped the exercise and cut back on other days. If I didn't allow myself days where I freak out and eat everything, I wouldn't be able to stick to this.

There is a difference in a "slip up" oops I went 600 calories over. AND GOING 6000 calories over. That's a problem.
  • There is a difference in a "slip up" oops I went 600 calories over. AND GOING 6000 calories over. That's a problem.

People tend to not realize how easy it is to do.

Scenario: I'm going out with the girls to Friday's for dinner, its been like for-ev-va! since I have seen them...
Sally & I decide we are going to split the JD Sesame chicken strips (a mere 550 calories right there) along with the Green Bean fries, I mean come on, they ARE a vegetable (450 calories a piece) and I am totally trying to get my 5 a day
I think I want dessert, so you know what... I'll be good and just get the Pecan-crusted chicken salad (clocking in at... 1080 calories)
OMG! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE brownies! I've been so good this week, I am going to get the Brownie Obsession. SCORE! (How many people here know that a Friday's Brownie Obsession is actually TWO servings?!? If you eat the whole thing it is 1240 calories).
I'm out with the girls and all, and the drinks keep flowing 4 Pomegranate margaritas (1600 calories) later I'm heading home feeling REALLY good at how healthy I ate, well... minus that brownie but hey, an extra 30 min on the tread mill and I'm GOLDEN!

    4425 calories later...

I know how easy it is. I used to eat 5-10k calories on a daily basis. 900 in the morning from McDonald, another 2000-3000 in soda, another 2000 for fast food for dinner, and then all my munchie food which would be another few thousand. The other day I drank some coffee and I used coffee mate, not realizing the serving size was so damn tiny I had like 400 calories from coffee mate. I was like wtf, so I went to the gym and ran off 500 to make up for it. But right now while I am trying to lose weight or at least maintain this weight I cant be eating that many calories. When I drink beer I will drink like 3k calories in beer, so now I just avoid it. lol I love beer.
I would also eat/drink a lot of chocolate milk and takis. The chocolate milk alone was like 1300 calories.

Well, the most I've ever eaten in a day was around 8000 calories. I used to eat 4000 - 8000 calories every single day during 2006 - 2008 (which is how I ended up gaining to a BMI of 28). There's no way I could stomach that amount of food now...the highest I've gone recently is 2600. I'm 4'11" & 92 lbs though so I'd say that's a pretty decent amount of food for someone my size.

Roughly 6,000, LOL! Oh, Chinese buffets. They are my weakness!
And you know what? I enjoyed every bite.

Probably right there doing the same exact thing. I used to hit Chinese Buffet at least twice a week too.

Since being on MFP, I've gone about 2,000 calories over....it was very easy to do, it was just one night out with the hubs!!

I can easily see how eating like that (fast food, junk etc.) all day could put you 8-10k over....yowza!!

The most I've logged was 6,001 calories in a day but before MFP, I'm sure I've eaten 10,000-12,000 easily. Darn mini eggs, pizzas, chips, coke and cookies!

!! Are you talking about cadbury mini eggs? I'm in LOVE with them and currently frantically buying up the country's supply of them before easter ends

I think I went over by an average 800-1000 calories a day on a seven-day cruise to Mexico in Jan.

    I think.

No cellphone signal meant I happily did not give a hairy rat's *kitten* about logging. I ate and drank like a merry wench.

On weigh-in and measurements day a week after the cruise, it turned out I had lost a pound and didn't gain a single inch anywhere.

    Boom.

I'm pretty sure I've eaten an entire's day worth of calories at buffets. But haven't ever really calculated.

In the past? 1,000. Nowadays, probably 100-300.
