The first time I did it, I believe I was 185. Dropped maybe five by the time I was running 5k, but I didn't pay attention to my diet at all back then, and I'm sure I ate back pretty much everything I used.
God, that thing kicked my *kitten* so hard. This was maybe 9 years ago, and I was in truly horrific shape, lol. Was completely out of breath after the very first 30 second jog (!) and I knew it was going to be a rough few months, lmao.0 -
I am doing C25K and am on week 3...I weigh 150lbs, though I was probably 156 when I started. I am 5'3" and have a lot of fat on my body and am extremely out of shape.
I say go for it! I had to repeat week 2 (so I am on week 3, but 4th week of doing it if that makes sense). I may have to repeat other weeks, i do what I can and then I push myself to do more so I don't feel bad about having to repeat weeks.0 -
I started last week at 219.0

There is a person now that is in the C25K group that started at 287 lbs. Weight only holds you back if you let it hold you back.0

228, on a 5'4 frame. Still haven't made it through the first workout, but I'm getting close. Shin splints suck.0

The first time I started I was about 320lbs. This time (I have a 5k in 3 weeks) I am around 270lbs.0

^^^Agree with rdulir.
We all have great excuses not to run. However, I seem to have misplaced mine somewhere around week 7 of the Couch to 5k program.
BTW, I was 220 when I started week one, day one in December. I'm 186 now.0 -
I have done 3 weeks of week 1 and I have just started week 2! I think I might do C25K in 6months! Oh and I'm 169lb 5 ft 6" xxx good luck... If I can do it anyone can.. I have been a smoker since I was 13yrs!0

5'8 and just under 200 lbs, although I didn't follow the C25k exactly, I made up my own variation.0

I started at 240 but there are people on here 300+ who have started0

You could always use it as a "walking" program too. Walk at your regular pace when they say "walk" and speed up the pace a few notches on the "runs". Take it easy and ease into it so you don't injure yourself!!0

I just finished week 1 and I am 5' 8" and 238 lbs.0

About 300 pounds when I started/finished last fall.
Will be starting again this spring and back up to almost 300.
I could definitely feel it on my body as I lost weight, but nothing like making it hard on myself.0 -

Very true statement. I walked in my first 5K at 188 pounds. This year I am still walking only with maybe a sprint thrown in there ocassionally at 135 pounds.0 -
I didn't do C-2-5k but I started running at 215, now I'm 150 and I've run two 5ks this month!0

I started at about 210 and hadn't worked out in 4 years. I am down almost 20 lbs and am on the last week. The last workout kicked my butt (jogging for 20 min straight) but I was so proud of myself when I finished it. Just remember, you don't have to run fast. I jog at 4.5 mph and walk at 3.5mph. Once you get the hang of it, you gradually increase your speed.0

I started around 260...0

I started c25k at 430 lbs. I plan on doing my first 5k in October and if the path stays true should be under 300 by then. You can start it at any weight. The point is to get you moving at a faster pace then you typically do working up to kepping that pace for 30 min straight. I plan on doing the complete program a couple times between now and October. I am currently doing it on a treadmill doing a fast walk at around 4-4.2 mph and dropping back to 3.5-3.7 for the walk part.0

I just started week 2 with the zombie 5k app and weighing 228 today.0
