Eating my exercise calories?

I was just wondering why I would want to eat the calories I burned off during exercise? Say I start out with a max caloric intake of 1200 and then workout and burn 250 calories. Why does it add those calories to my caloric intake for the day? Wouldn't I just want to keep them gone?
Thank you for any feedback!

What and where are the sticky notes? I wondered about eating those calories too. I try not to eat them sometimes but I'm happy to have them at other times!0

Hi, and Congrats on losing the 7 pounds!!! I was wondering the same thing. Then Chalene Johnson (TurboJam) writes that if you don't eat the calories you are allotted (that includes exercise-earned calories), your body will think it is starving and store any fats, etc. It's hard to eat all the calories, but once I started, I DID lose. Crazy, huh?0

Those first few topics with the red push pin next to them are the ones recommended.
In short, you want to consider eating your exercise calories because having too high of a calorie deficit can not only be very unhealthy but also can cause your metabolism to slow down.0 -

You can also use the highly effective "Search" function to find more info. Between exercise calories and the HCG diet, both of these subjects have been flogged to death in NUMEROUS threads.0
