A very good point! Thanks for that0

wow, that was VERY interesting. Thanks for posting!
I have known in the back of my mind as I count grapes and weigh my food on a digital kitchen scale that ultimately there is a wide margin on error. I guess this is one more reason to hone my intuitive eating skills. :flowerforyou:0 -
I've always wondered about this... how disappointing. I really hope they find a way to enforce accuracy. At least it appears we can trust subway...0

Wow what a cool video!!! Thanks for posting!!!0

wow! so cool!0

Very interesting! Wow the vegan sandwich surprised me. Just goes to show you can never trust labels, who knows if its even vegan or kosher. This makes me scared to ever eat out!0
-
Ugh, how sad is that?! I found that truth to be highly annoying. Just proved how much more careful I have to be when eating. This is making eating out so much harder.0

I kind of suspected this all along. I think this is why it's so important to listen to your body's needs. Eat when you're hungry - when you feel your stomach growling. And stop when you are satisfied. NOT FULL. But satisfied. Thanks for sharing!0

That is great to know. Thank you for sharing that one!0

Why doesn't this surprise me?0

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Whatever it take to get the customer.0

Well then, I guess we should all start eating Subway....lol0

Very interesting! I think I was most surprised that its so unregulated.0

If you noticed in the video, without even maybe realizing it; the author of the presentation made a fantastic point. He stated that maybe Starbucks just added an extra shot so when looking at a video like this, or counting the calories of websites verbatim, you have to take into consideration of human error or judgement. At chipolte and many other build your own meal places the ingredients are not measured but estimated (and generally if you get a great employee) they add extra and charge the same. How many restaurants actually measure perfectly to get the same calorie amount in each food item they prepare.
It is a great video and makes us think, but there won't always be a perfect balanced amount.... even when measuring your own. There is going to be a few calories off here and there. It may be positive, it may be bad, It's all about eating a balanced meal and not eating until you are full but content.0 -
EAT MOAR SUBWAY!0

Not at all surprising.
None of this is an exact science.
Unless of course you want to live the rest of your life in a lab.0 -
Awesome video, glad to see subway was under it's count.0
-
oh my...... then what make us belive the labels in the super market?? how do we know they are accurate and not just lies??0

Thanks for that, very interesting but worrying.
Shows how we can easily be eating into our 500 calorie deficit , despite our best efforts and without even knowing it!!0 -
Awesome video, glad to see subway was under it's count.
That one sandwich was, yes.0 -

Thank you for the link! I've always had some doubts about putting calories on menus at restaurants anyway. It seems to encourage factory line food like McDonalds rather than chef-made food. It looks like it would be wise to take those calorie counts as just estimates!
I agree about supermarket labels as well - they're probably pretty accurate for basic goods, like pasta, etc., but it's difficult to see how they can be spot on for everything.0 -
Thanks for the link, it was very interesting!0

Wow. another reason to avoid packaged foods and restaurants0
