I'm on day 30/31 of my 90 day self-imposed bootcamp of eating smarter and exercising and getting some of this blasted fat and flab off of my body forever, right? Well...tomorrow is my official weigh-in day, but I snuck on the scale a little while ago to get a preview and I don't see the loss I was expecting! For the first 3 weeks I gave up ALL eating meats, processed foods, dairy, junk foods, sweets, soda pop, store bought juices, coffee and eating at restaurants and stuff like that and I started eating only fruits and veggies and seeds, nuts and grains when my body called for it. Well...about a week or so ago, I started re-introducing meats, eating out a restaurants (totally within my macros) and a bit of dairy and just meats and stuff, instead of just fruits and veggies. When I was eating just organic fruits and veggies and no meats...I was consistently dropping 1.8-2.2 lbs per week, once I started eating meats and other stuff well in my macros...I'm not losing scale weight (but I continue to lose inches for some reason). I've been walking outside daily anywhere from 1hr to 2 hrs plus doing some other exercising daily as well. Anyhoo...
My lovely slim and trim oldest daughter came up to me and said..."Mother, what's going on--you're looking dejected" I told her that I'm feeling weird, because ever since I started eating meat again, I'm not dropping the pounds on the scale like I was when I wasn't eating it. That cutiepie darlingface tigermouse told me..."Oh Mother, don't worry, it's okay...now that you're eating lots moreprotein, you need to kick the working out up a bit. When you were eating just fruits and veggies, nuts and seeds and grains only, long leisurely walking was terrific--you don't want to do hard stuff in exercising when you were mainly juicing and eating fruits and veggies, but now you need to "kick it up a notch" since you're having more protein by walking faster, doing a bit more lifting and a bit more challenging cardio, and I'll help you mother and work-out with you--don't worry, you're NOT alone...me and the kids will help you!
WELL DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My ticker states clearly SWEAT is FAT crying and I definitely have NOT been making my fat cry really at all...I've been moving this body of mine for a nice amount of time daily and thru-out the day--but it's been really mild and gentle---Children are tremendous truth speakers, at least they are around our house :blushing:
This lovely daughter of mine is a youngin, a mere teen....she's not a fitness pro or anything, and her words of LIFE and TRUTH encouraged me something fierce and after she told me that, a light bulb went off for/in me and I love that! So kick it up a notch I will...I'm even thinking about dusting off the ole (original 1990's) Taebo or dust off my Power 90

love this your daughter knows her stuff.
I need to do the same and will be doing so next week, I have mantained for 3 weeks now (2 week half terms with the kids and 1 week included a couple of parties, so maintaining is a good thing I think ) and need to start seeing that scale drop a bit each week again, I did a resistance programme with my trainer and once the kids are back at school next week I have time to get a few resistance work outs in at the gym.
Mums kicking it up is a GOOD thing
