my goal has always been uk size 12 bottoms and 10 tops, im at that now and 12s are too big without a tight medium size belt and im at my smallest measurements iv been in the last 3 yrs or so. Iv had 2 kids, 2 yr old and a 6mnth old and have that podgy tummy at the bottom of my stomach. My measurements are 36-30-37 and pre babies it was 36-28-37, so im 2 inches away from goal waist size but its not changed in about 3 months. Im doing 30day shred and so far only part thats gotten smaller is my thighs and a little off of my hips.
I know after kids you shape changes but im still annoyed that im not happy. My arms and legs are skinny now, my hip bones you can feel if you touch my hips, but its just that baby buldge thats getting to me, My torso is quite small, just under my ribs whcih feel quite big themselves and since puberty iv never been below a 28 waist or 37 hips so im mayb thinking this is my natural shape and its going to be hard to change it. Im only 15-16lbs from goal but im focusing more on size and shape. I have 20 more days of the shred so Im hoping to chisel some fat off my waist, if I poke it I can feel the hard muscle about an inch under my stomach and my core has always been strong but its just that layer! Its a little loose if I pull at some skin but its not all loose skin. Any tips on getting used to a new shape and learning to accept how it is?

I have the problem of a small waist and larger hips!!! I always have problems with pants as I need a size that fits hips and I end up with a gap in back as waist is too big!! So... I finally found "curvy"style pants and ones that sit lower on hips work.
As far as accepting your shape, I watch the show "What Not to Wear". It is amazing how they tell the person to love their shape as it is now. I still look in the mirror and see a fat person but... others do not see me as fat. Not sure if your over all shape will end up as you want but... you need to love your curves and make the best of them.0 -
a) make sure you are eating well - lots of veggies
b) change your thinking - if you don't like how you look (but you think that you should), you probably just need to change the way you think and feel about yourself
c) ask yourself specifically WHY you don't like how you look
d) create positive affirmations for yourself (ie. I love the way I look in these pants. I really like my small waist.)
e) look at yourself in the mirror and smile every time you see yourself (look yourself in the eyes and tell yourself what a wonderful person you are, what a great family you have, and other things that you have that you are thankful and grateful for
f) chill out, meditate, do some yoga or tae chi or breathing exercises and allow yourself to just BE0 -
steph - Im mainly just unhappy at the stomach area after kids. When I bend over i get a little apron of skin, I know its nohing compared to some womens post baby bodies but it still bugs me. Im going to finish the 30 day shred then try ripped in 30 and see if it helps the area tighten back up. Everyone tells me I look good now but its still an adjustment that takes time to be visable to me. Iv had 2 pregnancy in 18 months so my body has been up and down in 1.5yrs and its hard to have a clear view when Iv changed so much in a short time frame.0

I loved the 30 Day Shred, and noticed a big change in my waist and hips. Good luck with Ri30!
I read something motivational (to me) once that said that even the skinniest of people have a little belly bulge when they sit or bend over. The article was celebrating skin, and how it stretches and covers our bodies, and it's so natural. Every body is beautiful when you learn to look it at it that way. :flowerforyou:0 -

What exercise were you doing before 30ds? If none, IT"S OK, it's so crazy after having babies. But give 30ds some tiem to do it's magic. You'll probably be happier with your tummy when it's done! Eating is important to. I didn't look at your food diary but Jillian says that you can eat your way through any amount of exercise- 2 slices of pizza will negate it (I think she means even if you are within your calorie goal, what you eat matter most). Great that you have a clear plan and Ripped in n30 should be a great next step. I reccomend Jillian's Kickbox Fast Fix, so good for your obliques and also Killer Abs, which I have only done Level one so far but it feels so good on your tummy. Best of luck hun! You will get there, the babes really just came out, lol!0

You are beautiful! Love yourself! Be kind to yourself! Happiness is more than just the way you look in the mirror. Trust me I learned that lesson the hard way when I was once near goal weight at 215 pounds only to gain it all back and more because I never addressed the three major points of life: mind, body, AND spirit.0

I was mainly just walking 5 miles a day 3-5 days a week before the shred. It slimmed my thighs and hips down by 5 inches in total so that worked!
Im actually watching programs right now on how to make the most of your figure and be happy with yourself. Saw one with a women who is 1 inch bigger everywhere and I thought " but you look so slim" so I know I look ok, but when I look at my self I see bigger then I really am0 -
Look at your stomach, look at your kids, then ask yourself if they are worth it?
PS: I have a tight body with rockin hard abs but am infertile and was not able to have children, wanna trade?0 -

Im definatly thankful for what I have, 2 healthy boys and everything is perfect really. I think its just because my body has gone through 2 pregnancies in 18months and for a body to grow then lose the weight twice its a hard adjustment and its hard to focus on how I really look as my body has changed so much recently0 -

Happiness comes from with in.
You may get your old body back, you may not. Yes, losing weight is twice as hard as it once was and it will continue to get harder as you age. The simple fact of the matter is, you are trying. When we strive for progress, not perfection, every day is a victory.0 -
Learn to love your body. My kids changed my body shape lol... And I kind of love it! I am at 36- 27- 38 I love my big hips and smaller waist. I used to do the 30 day shred and now I am running helped get my legs in shape.0
