Hello, I was just wondering if anyone succeeded in weightloss with totally screwing up most weekends? By this I mean eating good and healthy from Monday to Friday with a couple cardio sessions and a couple heavy weight lifting sessions THEN the weekend comes and they end up going over calories on both Sat and Sun and no exercise other than normal daily tasks.

OR maybe some of you can tell me what I can try to keep motivated on the weekends too? Tell me what you know. Thanks

This seems to be too. Every weekend.

I guess just don't beat yourself up over it. It happens. Life is too short to worry about going over calories in a weekend.

The weekends use to really derail me, probably because of the lack of structure and schedule I had on the weekends. I tried tackling it by pre-logging my weekends. It was hard to completely stay on track at first, but it became easier. Now I don't find the the weekend derailment happening very often.

I managed to lose 17 pounds reasoanbly easily eating awesome mon-fri and badly on the weekends. I was exercising mon-sat and having sun as a rest day. I haven't been able to get the last 5 pounds off though

You just described me! I'm sure it may slow me down a little, but I'm still steadily losing, so I figure it's worth it. This isn't a diet, it's a lifestyle and I prefer to not plan my weekends around every bite that goes in my mouth. I try to still focus on moderation and I log every single thing I eat, but I generally always go over a couple of hundred calories on Saturday and Sunday.

Would have been great today, but for that super delicious apple dumpling that I just ate... Worth. Every. Calorie.

I have to stick to it all week or it stalls me :( Weekends are extremely hard since my husband loves to go to BAD places but he is learning to help me (finally!!) Now he asks me..where can you eat haha
People say one meal doesn't make you fat however one meal can completely screw up a very hard worked week making the 6 days prior..useless :( Right now it is game on so I refuse to "live it up" until i lose more then I may have a bad meal once in awhile :)

I lost all my weight having a cheat day each week :) I would eat around 1300ish cals and not eat back my exercise cals and told myself it al balanced out on a weekly perspective... then I moved to Fri/Sat cheats, now I cheat all the time.. So while I stand behind a cheat day or meal, keep it in check! I have only gained a couple pounds (I have been maintaining since last August) I know the slope is slippery!

ETA: I should admit that my lack of structure/lots of 'cheats' has been since I was within 2 lbs of my goal.. I think I just got lax, it's all a mind game. Do what you are comfortable with.

Weigh your food and count your calories......even on the bad days. If at the end of the week, you're still at a deficit.....you're good.

Won't I have to be at a 3500 calorie deficit at the end of each week though? For me, my TDEE is 2048 and Im eating 1700cals Monday to Friday so that's only a 1740 cal deficit then on the weekends I go over like 1000-1500 so like 3200cals in one day. That can't be good!!!! But when I through in the exercise I do, which is badminton once a week, couple walks, heavy weights twice. Probably only a total of 1000 calories burned with exercise. If im doing this calculation right then Im only at 2740 from 3500 that I should be.

Include all calories burned and all calories consumed in your calculations. If you want to lose a lb a week, you'll have to be at a 3500 calorie deficit. There's really no getting around that. If you want to eat more on the weekends, you'll have to make it up somewhere, either with more exercise or eating less during the week. Or temper your goals. It all boils down to how fast you want to lose the weight and what you're willing or not willing to do.

So if I don't go over any day of the week, then my weekly calorie deficit is 2436 plus say the 1000calories burned from exerciese equals a total net deficit of 3436, therefore, I should lose 1 lb per week!!!! Right right right? But what if I don't, then what the hell is wrong? why all that time and effort wasted? It's so hard not to pig out sometimes................
