My salads consist of whatever I have in the fridge.
Spinach, feta cheese, red onion, cucumber, strawberries, sliced almonds and some chicken was in a recent salad with some balsamic.
Or spinach, red onions, sugar snap peas, tomatoes, cucumber, bell peppers and tuna.
I just look in the fridge and throw stuff in a bowl with a lid.0 -
My favorite salad is a "Greek" salad...
Cucumber
Tomato
Red onion
Pickled peppers
Pickled beets
Feta cheese
Olives
Lettuce is optional but I tend to like 'fancy' lettuce when I do eat it.
Otherwise I am the person that will try any vegetable (and occasional fruit) in my salad. The more the merrier.I just look in the fridge and throw stuff in a bowl with a lid.
YES THIS!0 -
Earthbound Farm Power Greens

Likewise. A bit of mix & match.
Dressing (for me) is usually what keeps it all together.0 -
Spinach, strawberries, feta, salmon, and some balsamic dressing. I add about a half cup of cooked quinoa if I need more of a carb to keep me going. I could literally eat this every day of my life. Mmm..
Aside from that pretty much whatever is in the fridge. Throw it in a bowl and shake a bit of dressing over it, it's hard to make a bad mix when it comes to fresh veggies0 -
chopped romaine, spinach, artichoke hearts, hearts of palm, carrots, tomatoes, radishes, olives, garbanzo beans, edamame, black beans, corn, bacon, cheeses, oranges, grapes, apples, pears, butternut squash, cucumbers, pickled veggies, chicken, steak, turkey, onions, cottage cheese, avocado, oil and vinegar, italian seasonings. broccoli, cauliflower, sunflower seeds, cashews, almonds. green beans, tuna, salmon, shrimp. boiled eggs. zucchini, squash, beets, mushrooms, celery.
not all at once. the sky's the limit, it just depends on what i have in the fridge/pantry.
jicama - really good.0 -

Usually I just toss whatever vegetables happen to be in the crisper drawer in a bowl, but a salad that I really like and eat regularly has in it baby spinach leaves, tomato, cucumber, carrots, avocado, bacon, chicken, eggs, walnuts, raisins, and cheese. It ends up being like a 500 calorie salad, but it's so good
Also, I hate dressing. Any kind. It's all gross.0 -

spring mix greens, tomatoes, goat cheese, walnuts, golden raisins, and Trader Joe's Cranberry Gorgonzola vinaigrette. Often with red quinoa or plain tuna on top. To die for. This is one of my favorite meals ever (including *before* I was trying to lose weight!) It's usually under 300 calories (I weigh everything), or ~400 with the quinoa. such a satisfying lunch!
I just made an awesome new salad (packed lunch for tomorrow). I was out of lettuce, so I got creative- I made curried tuna salad (2.5 oz plain tuna, 1 tbsp light mayo, a few golden raisins, curry powder and garlic powder) and mixed it with chopped bell peppers, tomatoes, and leftover peas. Topped it with a little balsamic vinegar and one tbsp of lite poppyseed dressing. Sounds weird, but it came out DELICIOUS and made a huge salad for 330 cals! So excited for lunch tomorrow!0 -
lettuce
tomato
cucumber
carrot

capsicum
then some kind of meat.0 -
Check my supper from this evening. Apparently, everything.0

I mix it up all the time. I eat just about any fruit or vegie in salad and the more the better. I also do shrimp, turkey, chicken, ham, bacon bits, tuna, olives, eggs, turkey pepperoni, and light dressings. Sometimes reduced fat cheese.0

Bibb lettuce, baby spinach, shredded baked chicken, a sprinkle of cheese, and light ranch dressing.0

my salads change a lot. i like variety. sometimes it's lettuce with veggies and vinaigrette, sometimes its a different lettuce with chicken and cheese. sometimes it's lettuce with tomato and mustard and a ground beef patty, cheese and a bun.....yeah, you caught me a cheeseburger. so sue me.0

Depends. If it's a side dish with a protein it's a mix of greens, celery, carrots and tomato. If it's dinner I also add hard boiled egg, chicken (I use the Perdue Short Cuts), hard cheese and bacon.0

Lately, I've been loving baby spinach and arugala, with strawberries and carrots. If I want to add more, maybe some chunked tuna and a bit of cheese. Strawberries and spinach are absolutely DELICIOUS together though. I'm thinking about adding some almonds to it today to try that out.0

slathered in southwest mustard- it's a slightly spicy mustard you can make basically the same thing with a bit of adobo sauce mixed into some honey mustard. or powdered red pepper.
I rarely eat salad these days but I love sauteed greens and veggies with my scrambled eggs.
when you buy the lettuce or any kind of fresh greens, get the kind that is whole, the romaine heads or whatever kind you're getting.
or get kale and spinach. all of those last longer than the precut bags of lettuce. it's so disappointing to buy the salad and be ready for the week, only to have it go bad 2 days later and you only ate half. go for darker greens or buy it whole when you can.
also bok choy, if bought relatively fresh lasts a really long time, mine lasted over a month.
very low carbs, similar in taste to celery for the staulk but not as much of a problem with the strings in my teeth.
and the leaves are better tasting and more substantial too. have it raw or throw it in stir fry0 -
sliced baby beets
chopped oranges or tangerines
crumbled goat cheese, especially the one with herbs and garlic
slivered almonds
and the old mainstays... tomato, red onion, cucumber
The more colors, the better it tastes!0 -
2 c. Lettuce (Iceburg Romaine and Baby Spinach)
14g cheese cubed
10g raisins or craisins (sometimes a mix of both)
5g raw pumpkin kernels or almonds (sometimes both)
5g crunchy noodles
28g canned chicken or tuna
10g onion
15g shredded carrot if i have carrots
1tbsp lite ceaser or other lite dressing (1/2tbsp for full fat dressings)
250-350 calories for a pretty big salad.0 -
as many veggies as I have in my fridge always add spinach and wheat germ- do really like to add either feta, goat or gouda cheese when I have it on hand.0
