this recipe is NOT healthy! just because it's low in calories doesn't mean anything. it's full of chemicals and processed crap!

She never claimed it to be healthy. Lighten up.

Thanks for the recipe - just my speed!
Just got back from picking up the ingredients.
Do they freeze well? I'd love to store them away for treats every now and then!

gonna have this try this! I've seen similiar recipes to this, always curious if it was good. I'm not much of a baker, don't eat too many sweets but I love lemon!

Good for you! Classy response to the other opinions!
Made this at Easter. Put a few spring looking sprinkles on top instead of powdered sugar. Also, only used one can of lemon pie filling. It was enjoyed by all!
Another 2-ingredient occasional treat for us is angel food cake mix and light cherry pie filling. Makes a quick, easy, pretty pink dessert.

    must try this!!!!
  • Trying with apple pie filing for my kids after school snack! Upside hey will likely eat the whole pan regardless so I will be able to see how it turns out. Will try the lemon and cherry in the future, thank you!!

Yes for the cake like texture just use one can of any kind of pie filling. I've used cherry, strawberry, blueberry, lemon and apple. I did chop the apple filling a bit tho because the first time I made it with apples as they were, it was a little dry. So just a quick pulse on the blender reduced the pieces down to size and make more liquid.

I love the bar texture and that is what you get if you use two cans/jars. Please feel free to post any alternative suggestions. I've been thinking about doing crushed pineapple or applesauce with the angel food cake.
