Ok, so here I am having wasted too many calories on stupid birthday cake this afternoon because I'm a greedy piggy!! I need some idea's of what I can have for my evening meal, something filling and tasty that only takes about 200 calories. I know there isn't really anything like that and if there was I probably wouldn't have it in, but just thought I'd ask. Wish I could fit some exercise in to my busy life, but it's impossible these days, I used to enjoy my exercise regime before and enjoyed eating those additional calories even more ..... Help!

Make a veggie stirfry.0

4 oz chicken breast (~100 cals), 1/4 cup brown rice (~75ish cals), and vegetables . Or just have a salad with lean meat. Another option is to just eat what you want and work it off later. As long as you're in a caloric deficit for the week, you'll still lose weight.0

2 egg omlette with loads of veggies in it :-) dry fry in a teflon and you get loads for 200 cals0

Exercise and burn some calories so you can eat them back?0

Eat a normal healthy meal and don't stress about it if you go over ... it's only one day?0

You're not a greedy pig. You're simply human. I'd suggest some form of lean protein mixed with brown rice and veggies.0

I'm with cmeirun. Don't freak out too much. Do your best to have a balanced dinner and make it up throughout the week with healthier diet and a little more exercise.0

Healthy soup or a gigantic salad with some black beans....and stop the negative self-talk.
P.S. It's been my experience as a CPT over the last 13 years, that EVERYONE can fit some exercise into their day, even if it's 10 minutes at a time.0 -
A greedy pig because you ate some birthday cake?
Man, I'd hate to hear the names you'd call me.
(Seriously, eat normally and eat right tomorrow.)0 -
steamed veggies!0

Grilled chicken breast with a side of spaghetti squash. AND, put the guilt away. Hope you enjoyed your birthday!0

Trouble is, it's every bloomin' day, hence I've put a stone back on0 -

Since my 2 grandaughter's came to live with me last June, I've really struggled to keep up with my exercise regime. Yes, I'm running around after 2 kids again, probably the reason I've only gained ONE stone, but it's not quite the same thing! With school and nursery runs, appointments, housework and working night shift's, I'm finding it impossible to fit any structured exercise in to my new life style :sad:0 -
Veggie Stirfy with a package of Shirtake Noodles in it. VERY FILLING AND LOW calories!0

Thanks for the foodie idea. It's not my birthday, my daughter's boyfriend was 18 yesterday sent 3 pieces and piggy ate them all :blushing:0 -
Or you could have some soup...you can even find some whole cans of soup for only 150 or so!0

Well, then, knowing what you "should" eat for dinner tonight is not your issue. Think more globally.0 -

Good idea except my omelette's always turn into some form of scrambled eggs :bigsmile:0 -
Work out instead of posting on MFP... in the time it took you to post this, then res pond you could have worked off 100 or so calories. Just sayin'.0

it's what you do 80% of the time that count's not the 20%. you splurged. so what? if you enjoyed it, that's what matters. eat a healthy dinner, try and get some exercise and let it go. there are going to be times when we're not so-called "perfect", that's what life is. a little splurge once and a while is ok. please don't beat yourself up - it's not worth it. now take a breath; smile; and forget about it. :-)0

I have a lot of 200 cal recipes that I sometimes use for dinner.
An omelette with veggies and a little cheese
Veggie stir-fry (or add in a little chicken or some thinly sliced steak -- usually still under or right around 200 cal)
4oz chicken breast sauteed with lemon juice and texas pete (both of which have basically no calories) 100-200 cal (200 if you sautee in olive oil, which I do) -- add a side of steamed veggies or a salad to fill it out
Parmesan chicken - coat a thawed chicken breast lightly in greek yogurt and shredded parmesan, then bake
honey-lemon chicken - mix together 1-2 tbls honey and 1-2 tbls lemon juice, add whatever spices you want (I use basil and rosemary). Sautee a chicken breast and add the honey-lemon coating when chicken is almost done (be careful and don't let the coating burn)
Or you could make a wrap. I have two recipes for wrap fillings that are both under 200 cal.0 -
tuna steak for the win0

ha ha, if only that were true
extremists are always the ones that will fail.
moderation is the key
3500 calories of excess to gain a pound of fat. which i doubt that will happen
you are not going to die0
