I accidentally added WAY too much garlic powder to a pot of chili yesterday and need help fixing it...is there anything I can do to tame the garlic?

Edit:

Besides adding a BUNCH more vegetables (I don't have much more room in the pot)

Could you scoop some of the sauce out and replace with water and tomatoes?

I love garlic!...and it's soooooo good for you too!

Not sure how to tame it though, I'm afraid :flowerforyou:

I did that with seasoning salt once, the lid came off an dumped a bunch in. The ONLY way to fix it is to double the batch, double the tomato sauce, etc and hopefully that will distribute it a bit better. You can freeze the excess for a quick meal another day . . .

Send it here... I'll eat it all... with extra extra garlic

Try cooking it with 1 or 2 whole peeled potatoes until the potato is done, then remove (works with too much salt and also removes scorched flavor if you burn something, not sure about garlic - but could be worth a try??).

Also try adding a little sugar to it.

More tomato sauce should work. I did this with pepper once when the top came off in the pot.......on a high note, you can keep the vampires at bay.

Added more canned tomatoes, a bunch of dried onion and more chili powder and it worked well. Yummy chili.
