Add a little hot relish and eat straight from the can. I do this when I'm hiking.

I get the snack tins of flavoured tuna - my favourite are the lemon&pepper and sweet thai chilly. YUMMY! I eat them on their own or on lettuce leaves.

In a food processor, put 2 garlic cloves, 6 kalamata olives, some jarred marinated artichokes (only like one or two), 1 tbsp olive oil and blend.

Then add in lemon juice, tuna, salt & pepper and a tiny bit of mayo and blend. it tastes soooo good. (It also looks like of purple because of the olives which is cool)

Also try blending a can of tuna with some ginger, garlic and miso dressing and put it in a salad! Its super yummmy with some green tea on the side.

My husband makes a fried rice with it using brown rice, shredded cabbage, and frozen stir-fry veggies. He LOVES it (smells gross to me).

I have a desk job, and while not terribly healthy, it's better than many other options - I keep the pouches of tuna (or mini cups) in my desk with a Kraft Easy-Mac cup and add some veggies or fruit on the side. Good when I'm in a jam or forgot to pack lunch.

I love love love canned Tuna. A new favorite recipe of mine is in muffin tins, like little mini- loaves.

Mix Tuna and an egg and then veggies of your choice. I also buy pork rinds and use them as 'bread crumbs". My favorite is:

    Tuna
    1 egg
    bread crumbs aka pork rinds
    chopped onion
    dill
    dash of brown mustard
salt, pepper and garlic to taste

I eat a couple of 'muffins/loaves' with a side of fruit, steamed veggies or a small salad. Easy to make and you can freeze them!

  • I take a small can - drain very well and then mix 4 tablespoons of salsa - both are chilled well - it is really tasty.

I love this recipe, it tastes amazing. I used canned tuna, it still tasted great.

    Ingredients:
1 (6.7-oz) jar of tuna packed in olive oil
pinch of dried oregano (if not already in the oil)
    3 cloves garlic
    pinch of pepper flakes
1 teaspoon mashed anchovy filets or paste
salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
3 cups high-quality cream of tomato soup
    1/2 cup water
    14.5-oz package dry penne pasta
    1 tablespoon minced fresh tarragon
2/3 cup finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, more as needed

The rest on how to make it

Tuna burgers, I cant remember exactly how I make them ( i tend to make it up) but something along the lines of 1 egg 1 tin of tuna (drained) onions garlic lots of herbs and spices and Worcester suace and squige them together and grill them ... they are pretty flimsy and crumbly but they are oh so yummy

As I am trying to increase my protein intake, I m going to make a twist on hard boiled egg - cut one in half, throw away the yolk and stuff it with tuna mixed with either a spoon of super light mayo or salad sauce or cream cheese and have it with salad :) When I make it I will take a pic :o)

Throw away the yolk?! That's blasphemy!

Sad isn't it the yolk is the bast part>

    Bumpin delicious tuna recipes!
  • Depending on how many people are being served, I use half or a whole can of solid white Tuna.

    Salad nicoise:

    Romaine and arugula
    Canned tuna
small steamed potato, cut in cubes
    Steamed green beans
    Hard boiled egg white, sliced
    a few capers
    a few black nicoise olives

    Dressing:

    Creole mustard or dijon mustard
a splash of lemon flavored olive oil
Vinegar (balsamic, apple cider or tarragon, depending on your preference)
    fresh ground pepper

I dont measure non fat condiments, just adjust the flavors to my taste.

If you're planning on eating a lot of canned tuna, buy chunk light tuna, not albacore. Low mercury content vs. high mercury content, and trust me, you don't want that crap in your body. Mercury poisoning is no joke.

Anywho, I like mine with all sorts of things.

    Roasted potatoes and parmesan cheese.
Brown rice with a bit of olive oil.
Lettuce, spices, plain Greek yogurt, parmesan cheese, on bread.
Minced radishes go good with the tuna salad, too.
Sometimes I add a hard-boiled egg to the salad as well.
Chopped onion and raw egg mixed in, spices, parmesan cheese, make into patties and dip in Bisquick or your own breading and pan fry in olive oil. :)

Tuna and pasta bakes are easy, and delicious. Just go easy on any cheese that you use, I guess :)

I like to get the small tins that have flavours and mix it with a portion of cream cheese to make a nice dip. It's good for something different sometimes :)
