I like beer

Why do you drink light beer? That stuff is garbage. I drink full flavored craft beer and just have one or two when I go out. Its much more filling and actually has taste.
I can come up with 200 - 400 calories once or twice a month for it.
Couldn't agree with that statement more. I try to make room for a couple nice full flavoured (not necessarily high alcohol) beers once a week.
If I am going to have to add it to my pal and sacrifice something else for it I want it to be well worth it...0 -
LOL... White Russians!!! Totally decadent...only have one a couple times a year now and YES... they are always as good as I remember them!! Now I stick to Vodka/Diet tonic on a regular basis. :drinker:0

Bourbon....mmmmmm
Beer....mmmmmm
Red Wine....mmmmmm
etc., etc., etc.
I just count the calories. So what if they are "empty calories." Count them and stay on track.0 -
Used to drink ten pints of beer a weekend every time I dj'd, you can imagine the amount of calories I built up over a time (10 years). It's been 2 weeks since I quit (actually, stopped for the whole of January) after realising the amount of calories it contained by this database. Love beer, had good times with it but I'm happy my liking for it is diminishing...have the cheeky vodka and diet coke every now and again.0

apparently tequila helps you lose weight.
Can't argue with that comment, I think I should pour me up some right now...
No but seriously if you are looking to get smashed tequila or some other hard spirit is probably the go because you are getting very few calories from anything other than the alcohol (1g alcohol = 7 kcal). It won't help you lose weight but gram for gram of joy you will get a decent bang for your buck from the hard spirits...0 -
I live in Italy...wine is obligatory on the dinner table. I don't think my in-laws would even come over if I told them no more wine, which is fine with me...I love the stuff. So, I calculate it into my max calories for the day or I Zumba it off the day after...0

That's total BS... My wife gained about 30 pounds the last time I had Tequila...
Took her 9 months to "lose it", too...

I'm pissed on Red right now and will be tomorrow.
And I have hit my protein target so yay me0 -
Definitely wine! I have managed to swap most of my food cravings for healthier options but nothing fills my wine hole
I so know what you mean...0 -

I think I gained 10lbs drinking white russians on my honeymoon in the Bahamas. I think they must have nade them with sweetened condensed milk or something. lol0 -

Not true but I do lose my clothes a lot when I drink it! I have cut way back on my wine and beer but I have not given it up! I just count them as calories and yes they are empty and so is my head! Who cares!
Cheers!0 -

I still find room for beer and wine, but one thing I used to drink all the time that I've mostly given up are margaritas! I love a good margarita but at about 300-400 cals per serving plus the salt rim it's usually not in my calorie budget0

I don't really crave alcohol, but I do crave white, refined things: bread, pasta, John Slattery...0

I love beer too! and WINE!
I will still have a drink whenever I want, if its a rough week after work, I will have a glass of wine or 2 with dinner 1 night or 4 nights. Its all about finding the balance that works best for you. If you want to have some drinks, go for it, but understand how it will impact your calorie count for the day and how it changes your eating habits then/the following day.
I know that if I have 3 or 4 drinks, I will be ravenously hungry the next day, so I have to keep that in mind and react appropriately. Also, if I plan on having drinks I make sure I get in a good workout.0 -
I still drink beer.
I don't think I could go without Stella or Peroni.0 -

Just keep on drinking, as long as you be honest about how much and log it into your diary.
Do some xtra walking (to the Pub) to earn it.0 -
So glad to see this post!! I like beer, especially in the summer time!! Nothing like lighting the grill and popping a top!! I have cut WAY back the last couple of weeks, though....mostly during the week, still drink it up on the weekends!!0

I bought some Budweiser 55 cal beer trying to save calories. Um no, just no.
I've decided to save cal. and enjoy the good stuff now and again.
That 55 s#!^ might be the nastiest I've ever tasted.0 -
Go for a drink that has less calories and less sugar. I love my wine (specifically, Kendall Jackson) but, when I go out (which is not all that often) I usually stick to beer so that I don't get too sloshed. Weird as it is, my favorite is Rolling Rock. I almost never order liquor. But, recently I switched it up to vodka soda, sometimes with a splash of OJ or sometimes just lime. It took me a bit to get used to it, but now I love it and I feel way less guilty about enjoying a few drinks. I've read that adding some Mio liquid water enhancer is good for adding some extra flavor, but one of the ingredients is sucralose (same as splenda), so advise against using Mio or any type of artificial sweetener.0
