Anyone not like cottage cheese but was okay with eating it in a casserole? It is one of the only foods I just cannot eat but keep seeing it in different receipes in place of regular cheese and wondering if I would like it.

Ricotta cheese - what does it taste like?

Ricotta is like a creamy version of grated parmesan cheese.
  • I dont like cottage cheese alone but I enjoy it in casseroles.

Ricotta cheese takes like what I imagine clouds in heaven taste like.

I like only one brand of cottage cheese, Breakstone. I like ricotta which is smooth and slightly grainy. Ricotta cheese is what I use in lasagna, some other casseroles. Blended cottage cheese is very good for dips for vegetables.

I like ricotta.... it's kinda weird to me tho. Tastes like a mild parmesan and is creamy and textured all at once. It's great layered in lasagna! oh great now Im hungry. haha!

Delicious creamy and rich...not like cottage cheese... but its low calorie ish really... great with spinach... and pasta and onion tomato! And pasta, parmesan and pasta... Kind of a grainy texture... I love it.

I cannot stand the taste or look of either cottage cheese or ricotta cheese. But I have used cottage cheese in many recipes in place of ricotta and I love it that way. I use it in lasagna and manicotta it really reduces the calorie and fat content of the two dishes and you really do not notice it. I think it adds more of a tangy flavor to the dishes and its a lot cheaper too.

I find cottage cheese is nice when flavoured, definitely not something to eat on it's own
