Bands you wouldn't expect to be so good live..

I saw them for the first time last night at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston... AMAZING show! I don't know if it's because I've been listening to them for over 15 years (my 3rd grade teacher played "Peaches" in class one day and I was hooked ever since!), but they put on an overall fantastic show!! I will definitely make it a point to see them the next time they come around!
So, what bands blew you away you when you saw them live?

I saw Gob many years ago live. Never really cared for them until I saw them live. Happily surprised!0

I can't stand Nickelback but their concert, I'm embarassed to say , was surprisingly really good (husbands a big fan)
There was a light show, there was fire, there was smoke, they had drum solo's, it was loud and only got louder the longer they played.0 -
Neon Trees. Seriously - they sound nothing like the pop**** that is played on the radio. They are intense and their stage presence is incredible.0

I was so worried about seeing them live. Thought it would really boring. I love their music but didn't think they were the type of band to see live. It was actually a great gig. I had a great time

Also, Judas Priest, I saw them about a year ago. How can it be possible to sing like that at 60 years of age? Seriously Mr Rob Halford, HOW?0

I've been to a woefully small amount of concerts, including Radiohead and the Beastie Boys which you would expect to be awesome.
The Toadies were incredible, and I'm sure most probably thought of them as a one hit wonder.0 -

I also have to mention that Iron Maiden will forever be in my top 5 shows. I saw them with Alice Cooper last summer. Effin' amazing!

Green Day floored me. Simply amazing live, and FUN.
Korn was great as well.

Linkin Park puts on an amazing show! Fallout Boy puts on a good show and I'm excited to see them again this fall! For how dumb most of her music was Ashlee Simpson put on a good show, my friend and I saw her years ago just for fun lol0

Nine Inch Nails was AMAZING.. more of a 'Multimedia Event' than a traditional concert..
Best concert? Porcupine Tree in Chicago 2010.. yeah, they released a DVD of it. Now I have it FOREVER! :-D0 -

Me too! I love Nickelback and I don't give a crap what anyone thinks!! World would be pretty boring if we all liked the same things. I have seen them 3 times in concert and can't wait to see them again!!0 -
Was never a fan of Frank Turner till I saw him live, but he was fantastic.0

NOT that I wasnt expecting them to be the best but Metallica and Hell Yeah both put on a great show. Killswitch Engage was also unreal! Ive seen them a bunch of times and loved every show0
