Honestly it took about 3 months of eating well before the scales budged at all (that’s how messed up my metabolism must have been), but then the weight slowly melted off. In the end, it took a little under 2 years to lose the weight, but unfortunately I had a slip up (gain of 20kg’s) and had to regain focus before I was back to where I started. It took me a year to lose that, and I’ve manage to maintain the loss for just over a year now.0

Thank goodness! I was mentally beating myself up because I have only lost 24 pounds in just over six months and get depressed when I compare myself to people who have done 100 pounds in a year. I reckon it will take me a total of 2 - 2.5 years to lose a full 100 pounds. I am in my early 50s but that should be no excuse.
Well done and thanks for posting this....And you all look fabulous!
It will likely take me 2-2.5 years as well. My plan is to do it slowly, to help make the lifestyle changes stick. I also had surgery a few weeks ago, which puts things on hold for a few months, giving me time to practice maintenance while I can't exercise. I'm halfway there, so now is as good a time as any to take time for evaluation and reflection.
Hi! Well, I decided to take it slowly because I wanted to have a lifestyle change. My father, grandfather and one of my uncles is diabetic, so you can imagine that I didn't wanted to be diabetic. I decided at 26 years old that by 28 I needed to feel and look fantastic.
Since I started by eating less and then running about 20-30 minutes on the treadmill at home, I am a bit squishy on my tummy. I have to get plastic surgery to remove the excess skin I have on my tummy. It is because I have lost more fat and even if I try doing more strenght training (which I will) I will still be squishy there.
I am not one for losing weight that fast, though I can tell you a was getting worried because I was losing weight too slowly, but it was for the better. I am eating healthier and having a cheat meal once a week, doing exercises at least 4 to 5 days a week.
Have fun and enjoy the ride to a better and healthier life!0 -

Awesome job to all who posted their transformations!0

I seemed to have taken much longer than everyone else
2 years including a 6 month period of not trying very hard. A few days of eating well then I'd slip up and decide to wait until the following monday to restart. Not a good idea but I got there in the end and maintained over 1 year.

I lost 75 my first year... got to 85 and kinda got lax and maintained since last August... now I am going to get back on that horse and get it done.
I think it depends where you started weight wise... the first 85 were almost too easy, and now the struggle for the last 10 is HARD!!!
