I would say its very possible, kinda like when your clothes are getting bigger, but your weight stays the same, Basically turning fat into muscle, is it dead on accurate, of course not, but it does seem to be a fun tool for everyone to try and utilize!0

I don't believe you can put on 5# of muscle in one week (unless of course you are genetically engineered!). I'm would say there is some anomoly or inconsistency with the measurement methodology. Muscle takes a lot of time to build/grow.0

Thanks for the input, I know it's not gonna be deadly accurate, but the thought that it could be possible on some if it, helps. I do think that site is more accurate than the MFP BMI. Especially when the other makes you take multiple measurements and not just age, sex, and weight. Thanks again for your time0

You can't literally turn fat into muscle or vice versa, but yes, it's possible you lost the same amount of fat as you gained in muscle. :happy: I want to try! It's probably not as accurate as a real test but I still want to try, hehe.0

You can't turn fat into muscle; it's not like a butterfly that goes through metamorphosis to change it's physical features. What's happening is that you're building muscle, which increases the muscle mass you have which in turn burns more calories. Burning calories is that burns fat, making it disappear. So it's NOT that fat is TURNING INTO muscle, it's that fat is being REPLACED BY increased muscle mass. And yes, this replacement will offset weight loss on the scale which is why people constantly say to take measurements as well, because that is where this difference would show up the most. If you have excel on your computer look through the templates. I found one that I am using that figures all of the information for various weeks. It is kinda neat to be able to look down the sheet and see the decreases in inches. Also, by doing it this way you know the same formula is being used for each calculation.0

I tried this website and it was grossly inaccurate for ME. That does not mean it will be inaccurate for others. Also something to keep in mind, you stated it give you a percentage of body fat and a percentage of lean (muscle, bone, body WATER). The 5 pound conversion from fat to "lean" is not just muscle mass but can also be water, which we all know fluctuates quite a bit on any given day/time. But I think if the "fat" number is down, that is GREAT!!! And what a motivater! I may have to give that a try.0

I went to that website and did the same test.
My measurements:
Weight:223 lbs
Hips: 43 in.
Calf: 17.5 in.
Thigh: 29 in.
Wrist: 7 in.
My results:
You have 24.2% body fat.
You have 54 Pounds of fat and 169 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water).
We weigh pretty much the same, but I think since I'm younger than you that makes my percentage not as high?0
