I'm looking for something to replace shakeology's $146 meal replacement. Both Garden of life Raw organic meal and Visalus Body By Vi are reasonable prices I just don't know which one to get. I am looking for this to be my morning breakfast . I also have 2 large tubs of Jillian Michaels whey protein vanilla and it tastes terrible! I am probably going to force myself to drink it since I paid 10 for each. Any recipes on how to make JM protein better let me know. Thanks

If you are willing to make your own fruit smoothies, I recommend blending up the Breakfast Smoothie that Dr. Oz had recommended on his one show, which has berries, banana, lemon, almond butter, spinach (or other green, variety is recommended), flax seeds, water. You could put the whey powder in there instead of the almond butter...maybe 1T of it since it is only 1T of almond butter. The smoothie is in the Food recipes on myfitnesspal. You can vary the fruit if you don't like berries. I think it is delicious, drink 1 quart of it in the morning, normally having it finished around 30 minutes time, and I do not get hungry for hours.1

the raw one tasted nasty to me. Some people like vega though, I didn't though, so I use soy protein from gnc mixed with slimfast. Tastes good and it is working for me. I'm sure you will find many more than willing body by vi reps here willing to send you samples0

I have been doing the Vi shakes for over a year now and I love them. Plenty of options and it tastes great.0

I am using Body by Vi and I LOVE IT!!!!! I am also eating good food at meal and snack time... I have lost 6 pounds so far... NEVER HUNGRY! As a matter of fact I am eating right now a snack of apples and peanut butter just to reach my calories for the day!0

I use garden of life raw meal. The taste does take some getting used to but the benefits are amazing and the ingredients are all natural. I just looked up body by VI and the ingredients look like something out of a chemistry lab. For garden of life, I like the chocolate on its own. With the vanilla I mix in frozen berries.0

I've done all three plus an extra.
Shakeology is awesome. Has lots of nutrients in it (some hard to find and hard to replace). Taste great. $$$$/ My favorite if I could afford it. Mix half shakeology an half of something else if you are wanting to cut the price.
Body by Vi - I had an allergic reaction (soy). I am not the best. Has options for adding in flavourings without adding in calories. I didn't lose anything on this.
Raw Vegan - I currently using this. Initially tasted bad but I was mixing with water. Now I add coconut milk, banana, blueberries, and 1/2 tsp vanilla.....Just fine.
Whey Protein - I did this for a long time. I just now figured out that I can't drink milk but was still using this. Allergic reaction (sinus problems. I was already couldn't drink milk). Watch carbs and fat grams which can vary from product. Vanilla and chocolate taste great.0 -
I personally didn't like the garden of life. I haven't tried body by Vi. I use Sun Warrior and really like it. If you contact their customer service, they will send you samples of their products so you can try it out first.0

Anyone else use Garden of Life? Would love get more feedback on this, trying Shakeology for breakfast smoothies but have a canister coming from Amazon for a cheaper meal replacement solution. It's for breakfast smoothies.0

I've been using it and I like it a lot! I don't expect it to taste "good" (it is a little chalky), so I blend it into my normal smoothies which are made up of almond milk, frozen bananas, other random fruits, spinach, and sometimes peanut butter.
I drank it as a pre-workout meal the other day with just almond milk, the powder, and half a frozen banana and it was good/ok! I'm not drinking it for the flavor, I'm drinking it for the nutrients, so that's ok with me.
I chose it because I saw on another MFP thread that someone pointed out its nutrition was rated right next to Shakeology: http://www.foodfacts.com/nutritionalinformation_Meal-Replacement-Drinks/20/321/1821
I've ready so many good things about Shakeology but the price is just astronomical. I wouldn't even pay for a gym for $130/month, let alone a drink. It's just a great combo of nutrients.. not some miracle formulation. The raw stuff was a close match for me because it was made out of real foods rather than chemicals and the calorie/nutrition stats were comparable.0 -
I have the vanilla Garden of Life. The lady at Super Supplements convinced me that it tasted delicious, but I disagree. It tastes, looks, and smells awful in my opinion. I use it occasionally when I need fill out my day with something, but I wouldn't buy it again.0
