Good idea Asking on this is one thing for people without many issues, but because of a heart block and MS it's better you ask an MD Good luck with finding the right path for you!0 -

in terms of weights and cardio... you dont have to do any at all to loose weight.
your fitnesspal should be set at a deficit which will help you to loose wait..
think of weights and cardio as extra calories for you to eat.. because anything you burn in the gym you should be eating back as you calories are already at a deficit and you dont want the deficit to be too large.
just whenever you get time to do either do it as you wish.. obviously it is good for muscle tone and you heart etc. dont go to crazy on the cardio and walk/run for hours... balance it out. there is no secret ratio.0 -
changed my mind - will ask my Dr tomorrow
thats a good idea
just remember .. you cant speed up you basal metabolism so dont let them make u think you need to eat every 2-4 hours.. it really doesnt matter unless your diabetic for instance.
also you dont HAVE to eat everything thats labelled 'healthy' your body recognises a carb as a carb and a fat as a fat..

I'm skinny fat. Should I focus on losing the fat first or building muscle? Thanks0

How many years into lifting did you do your first cycle?
What was it?
How many cycles since then have you done?0 -
OK! You asked for it...
MFP sets my cals to 1,260 per day. I manually add on an extra 500cals becuase I am nursing a 12 week old baby and what little is know about this suggests it uses up around 500cals per day. Also, nursing mothers are reccommended to eat 1,800cals a day minimum if they want to lose weight.
Should I eat back my excercise calories? I'm doing the 30DS and an ocassional bit of pram pushing.0 -

Thank you for your offer of help.
Since you have a masters in pharmacy I will ask about Qsymia.
My daughter mentioned this medication to me and I did some reading about it.
I asked my doctor for a prescription and he would not give it to me.
Not due to health issues - due to his opinion that diet pills are not the way to go.
I am morbidly obese. I need to lose over 150 pounds.
I realize that I have to learn and develop healthy eating habits, and also exercise when able.
My thought though is since I have so much weight to lose, Qsymia would help me reach my goal sooner.
Naturally I'd rather reach my goal within a year rather than two.
Do you see any reason not to take Qsymia?
Healthwise - Besides joint issues (DDD, Neuropathy) my only health issue is High Blood Pressure.
Your thoughts?
Thanks.0 -

if you have a good amount of fat on you.. then why dont you shed some fat to a reasonable amount.. then focus on building some muscle.. if the amount of fat you have dont bother you... then you can go either way.. its personal preference for u
i dont like to go past a bodyfat% where my abs disappear.0 -

Back ground: When I was younger I did not have a weight issue. However working in Hollywood CA (previous life) there were allot of weigh-loss doctors. So I went with a few friends before lunch. I noticed a HUGE difference in people within 30 days. They did this to jump start their diet exercise plan. Essentially they would go weekly and the doctor gave them a shot (B vitamins), and gave them a 7 day supply of pills.
question: what were those pills, what side affect is there?0 -

i couldnt say yes take it because due to contraindications/drug allergies/DH etc etc... from what i know it is a combo of two drugs.. one is an appetite suppressant and the other an anticonvulsant im thinkin.
i would say just stick to your diet... you will for sure loose weight.. and dont diet aggressively.. just loose the weight overtime. it may seem a long way away.. but time will fly.. be flexible with you diet, make sure its varied etc.
if you try rush your weight loss i garuntee you, you will put it back on once you up your calories again.. diet in a way which is realistic to keep long term!!
weight loss pills/medications etc are not the way to go i agree.. the only ones i wouldnt be against are the last resort ones they give to diabetics (anti-obesity) .. go with the diet and exercise!!!
hope i answered you question.. really busy0
