My Shorts Wont fit!!

So, summer is here. I got out my summer clothes from last July.
I put on my size 22 shorts, and they were TOO BIG!!
I was so excited to see them fall off. When last year they were tight.
When I look into the mirro I still see myself as 200lbs but , when I went to the store
to try on shorts.. I was overwhelmed with Joy to purchase a size 14!!
Well, the 14 is a little snug, but it fits! I am some where in between a 14 and 16.
I have good days and bad days. Good weeks and terrible weeks.
Some times I will eat chips and dip for breakfast (what is wrong with me?? lol )
Other days I will eat everything healthy.
I can exercise every day for a month. Then not exercise for ages.
Most times I lack motivation, but when I tried on my shorts I knew .. I am making progress.
I am proud to have lost the weight, yet worried if I can continue on this journey.
Its funny how people notice you are fat, but when you lose weight-- you feel as though
you have to remind them of what you have done.
I feel like every time I eat some thing. I must explain why I am eating it.
How many calories it is, and how much I ate that day. Because when you
try to lose weight all eyes are watching you. (hubby, kids)
When I bought my new shorts, I felt confident. I am no longer shopping in the plus size, but in the misses. I have not done that in 5 years!
No, I am not a size 0 or 4 .
I have curves! I have a double chin! I am very short, and very round! I have stretch marks!
Yet, I am slowly moving towards my dream of being thinner. Most importantly healthy.
And after the confidence , I ate pizza! Then the next day I ate chips, then sweets.. and by the end of the week
I had gained a couple pounds.
I sabotage myself, when I am doing good!! Why??
Anyone else do this??
sorry I needed to vent

Welll.... I say kudos to your sucess so far!!! Don't beat yourself up about the bad days..... Every day is a new day! You get a new day to try again!!!! As long as you stay on what you didnt do right - you waddle in it and it's hard to pick yourself up! We fall down! but We GET back up!0

Congrats!! That's so exciting and gives me a lot to look forward to. Thanks for sharing0

Congratulations!! I bet that is a great feeling. When you are feeling low on motivation, just remember that moment. Soon, it will be your new shorts falling off.0

I think its, just in my opinion, that comfort zone....I know that I'm still big as all left sides; however, when I reached that 15 lbs I wanted to eat....sad, but true....
food is very comforting...it dont talk back, dont tell you what or when you do wrong, it dont complain, it dont do nothing but make us feel good........its normal reaction to turn to food so its not that you didnt act as most people do...its getting over that hurdle that we all daily have to work on.......
mind over habit.....you have to set your mind to overcome all bad habits on life.....its very hard, i still have not perfected it, but I can say I have overcome one small battle at a time by overcoming it.....0 -
congrats on the victory though....dont be hard on yourself in any way, shape or form...be happy for your accomplishment0

Congrats! I know it’s hard but we all come across that temptation to reward ourselves with food. We say we've been good today but then we go too far or make one cheat day into 2 etc.
If you like rewarding yourself with a treat, go out for frozen yogurt or work out and have a slice of cake or pie at home but THATS IT! You just have to tell yourself to put the fork down, you had your fun now go do something else.
Hopefully I can fully practice what I preach as I'm afraid I have my cheat days once a week but at least I've limited it to 1 day and so now I just need to turn a cheat day into a treat and not a binge ‘cause of the mentality that “today is the end of the world and I can eat whatever I want today only” day.0 -
Thank's every one for your kind comments :flowerforyou:
It's nice to have a place where other people understand where you are coming from.0 -
First off, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS! Wow, that's a lot of sizes to lose, you must feel really proud of yourself. I know I feel really proud of you.
And then. secondly, I want to say that EVERYONE has bad days/weeks and you don't need to beat yourself up about it. Just accept that you made a mistake, and move on. Prove to yourself that you DO have self control and that you CAN do this. Because I know you can. How else would you have gotten to a wonderful size 14? So forgive yourself for kind of slipping, and continue on being healthy. It's no big deal! Just think of it as a minor impediment in your path that you are getting over now. Good luck!
Congratulations again on losing the weight!0 -
Congrats on your great success - I cannot wait for that time
Get the stuff out of the house that you should not eat. Research and try healthy replacement foods - there are many that are posted on the message boards. I like zucchini sticks and hummus and sometimes a few Popchips. I have to keep reminding myself this is not a diet but a new way of life so I have to find new alternatives that are yummy and satisfying!0 -
WOW - that is amazing. you have done a wonderful job so - if you feel like venting just go for it. Just stay steady and keep on going!0

Thank you. I do feel super proud, and Its nice to have others proud of me.
It is an every day battle. Some people are addicted to drugs or smoking.
My addiction has always been food. Unless some one is in the same situation,
they do not understand how hard it is to lose the weight.
They say, well exercise, or eat less. But it's not that easy.
I do not exercise a lot . So, people ask how am I losing weight??
I do not drink soda or tea any more. Yet, the biggest thing that has helped me lose weight.
Is in december 2009 I quit eating meat. I still have dairy , but cut out all meat .
That's when the pounds started coming off. I convinced my Hubby who was a Steak Man! To
quit eating meat as well, he was not happy at first, but when he seen me struggle with my weight
he said he would "Try" it with me. Every since december we never went back to meat.
It is a bit more expensive, and with him being the only one working.. I find creative ways
around the meat.
If I did not stop eating the meat, I fear .. I would have not lost all this weight!!
Any way, at 5 foot barely .. I still have a long road ahead.. but I am being positive,
and learning to forgive myself for the bad days!!
I hope I can inspire other people who think they Can't do it!!
Because for 5 years I tried! and now I am really doing it!!0 -
congratulations. I think that your "problem" is that you are doing it "real". You are living life in a sustainable way and finding that you are still losing. (Hint: this is not a problem!!!)
You are doing an amazing job! Do not beat yourself up because it doesn't seem "perfect". :smooched: It sounds like this is perfect for you!
The way I see it is that it took me years of doing little things for the weight to creep up so it will take years of doing little things to get rid of it. Who cares? Who says you have to lose 2# per week. It is ok to lose 2# per month or even slower!
The only way to fail it to quit!:flowerforyou:
