Hi I have a major dead leg through somebody kneeing me in the thigh, I can hardly walk.
There is no swelling or bruise, but the pain is intense, its been over 5 days now. Ive tried applying an ice pack each night for 20 mins here and there, I have strapped it up with a compression bandage.
How long can I expect to be out of action? does anyone have information or advice on this sort of injury?

Dude, go to the doctor! You could have some serious nerve damage if that's left unchecked. Possibly something even worse.0

There is always the risk of something like this if you continue to not get treatment:

BTW, this injury essentially ended the career of the Boston Bruin's Cam Neely.0 -
Jumping back in to add that I'm a nurse at a trauma center. I generally think most people are whiney over-reactors when they get injured and should stay home with ice, rest and tylenol. I think YOU need to go to the doctor.0

If you decide not to go to the doctor, then keep icing it -- a lot! And take ibuprofen (if you aren't allergic and don't have stomach issues) every 8 hours to reduce swelling. :-)0
