Happy Friday Pepper's,
I know its only a pound but the scale is moving in the right direction. My weight this week 195. :drinker: I am going to make it a goal for me to do a little more exercise this week I am feeling better but want to start off slow.
Goals:
eat 3 veggies daily
eat at least 3 fruits daily
drink my water
exercise at least 3 times this week 30 mins or more
check in daily
Think I got it all covered. Now have to do it. :laugh:

Ok so one pound but hey at least it a pound, wt in at 250. So did no exercise this week so that goal one. more water and checkin in everyday is a goal also

Has anyone seen that kelly_a girl?? ya know, the one who usually eats clean, likes to walk/jog and workout with Mia..... she was on wk 6 of that C25K program? has she been here lately??
WAY, WAY, WAAAAYYYY up today. a GAIN of eleven point eight. 11.8 :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: ....a reaction for every POUND!
someone reel me in......I have drifted away.....forget the rope....I have sunk! The gain is easily explained in my daily log. I have 7 days of NO calorie totals. Too much food, obviously back to old ( bad, very BAD ) habits. lots and lots of salt, processed food, short on water, etc.....I have been so out of control....I don't even know who I am.
Can I blame it on pms? Seriously? still waiting for my cycle to begin......now, I think my gallbladder is unhappy with me as well...for 2 days now been having pain under my ribcage, R side, front and back. Laying down is getting very uncomfortable....have been burping a lot, bloated, sluggish. And, I wonder why? Duh!! :noway: I am feeling stiff from lack of exercise....why do I do this to MYSELF?? torture...punishment? I haven't any ideas. NONE.
So, another start here....will join Cindy in goal setting...
1 ~ log my food the NITE before.
2 ~ C25K...& resistance! If I don't exercise....my entire world suffers!
3 ~ water...empty that red can x3! gulp!
4 ~ be consistent & FOCUS!
can't change what happened in the last week, but I can do something about today.....hope that kelly_a comes around.....0 -
I think I saw her! She is getting back on track and motivated. We can do this. Log your food it does help a lot. I go crazy on week ends that is why I am making so many mini goals, like this week end I will check in and I will log my food. I am not trying anymore I am doing. You must have water no way you can gain 11.8 pounds in one week. You would have to eat a lot of food.
Jacque I only lost one pound as well and it is big. It is better than gaining a pound or not loosing anything.
Being honest with yourself is very good. I feel better and able to focus better when I am honest. Ask yourself the questions (I know you are doing this for health too). Do i want my meds to be upped again? Do I want to stay off diabeties meds? Do I want to feel like crap? When I go for extra food or something I know I should not have I made it a habbit to ask my self these questions and believe it or not I dont eat it. Why because to remind me why I am doing this. Find what makes you want this more than anything and keep reminding yourself when being bad.
Sorry this was so long just sharing things that motivate me and its working. Today is a new day. Get right back on.

Ok thats it I am slowly killing myself, Ate a buger and fries for lunch and feel awful!! Had to walk over to the other hospital and it neerly killed me between the heat and not been workin out. I am so going to get this under control!!

Hi all..
According to the wii balance board under Julianne's ultimate fitness, I weighed 175.1 last night. This is down from 176.4 earlier in the week. HOWEVER, I'm not pleased.
And sweet Dave... wanted to bring me home something nice -- his idea of nice is a thick homemade chocolate shake from the local ice cream shop. Gotta love him.... partially my fault.. if I had not taken him to this local joint, he would have never known. This joint is the hallmark of town.... been in existence for 50plus years.... everyone who grew up in this town knows White Dot. Perhaps I should stop showing him the highlights of town. Let the "newbie" figure it out on his own!

I ALL! I am back, had the mother in law here, and testing to do and the computer was just TAKEN all the darn time!
Exhausted, but back! Thank you for all the great birthday wishes! and I am back to encourage and workoff the crap taht I have been shoveling in the body:noway: not happy with the way I was eating...afraid of the scale but I will weigh in tomorrow so we have a jumping off point right now..... It has been WARM HERE like in the 80's and that is hot for us! Hope taht I can keep the night walks up and longer!

Starting the day out right ! I ate a healthy breakfast with veggies and fruit! Made a cup of coffee (THANK THE GOOD LORD) :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: and am planning on taking the kids and hubby hiking today or atleast walking for a while. Hubby is on vacation until the 18th I think and he would watch tv every second of that vacation if I would let him, but that is not gonna happen!I back and Im kicking my big butt!
Got on the scale,it read 195....which means that it is being nice to me...didnt gain or loose...but back to where I was...I dont have far to go, I just want to get down 25 or more pounds...but i just keep messing up. There are changes in eatting habbits in the summer time for me, and most of them are for the better..I crave fruit, water with limes, fresh veggies and so on....but the ice cream, the frys from a carnival, and the beer:drinker: not that I drink a lot..the crap even though it is a little bit it is hurting me... I need to power this body with the good stuff!
A little frusterated here.....but In my heart of hearts I can do this I know I can........been going this far...this has been a three year journey for me why would I throw in the towel when i am this close? I dont really think I am throwing in the towel but you know what I mean.:huh: anyhow here is to a new week of healthy choices and a healthy MIND SET! I can do this!
GOALS:
Veggies and fruits all in my body!
water water water!!!!
atleast 30 mins of GOOD exercise a day!
ENJOY my family and enjoy making them healthy as well!
SHORT TERM GOAL:
5-pounds = a new outfit
10-pounds=new skate outfit
20-pounds=new wheels and berrings for my skates
25-pounds= 3 sets of new clothes!!!!

hi gang.... hope you are all having a good weekend. How's everyone doing with their goals?
I had a really big issue with salt retention in my feet Fri evening until Sat eve. Long story short......ate lunch @ Chinese buffet w/my mom Fri, drove w/oldest son to Indiana that eve. Saturday we then drove to Michigan to get his car, then back home....10 hrs in a car. Not enuf fluids and my feet swelled so bad I could not get my sandals back on, drove barefoot. Back, ribcage, sternum pain was continuous all thru this, until last night when I took a generic Zantac....and forced water. Much better today and all food logged is clean. My salt is 370 for the day, so I am feeling so much better. Yes, Cindy, logging definitely helps and being honest about what I eat..whether it is in view of others or not. It is what it is! The scale does not lie and my body WILL speak!
Cindy ~ thanks for the tips and motivation. I hope I can keep focused this week!

Barb ~ don't think I could pass up a shake...that sounds yummy! I had a huge gain this week, so I know how you feel. let's get back on track here ok? you have done well exercising!

One day at a time.. my life saying now.... one day at a time. Take the eating one day at a time... take work one day at a time. take the relationships w/my kids one day at a time.
The kids have begun counseling.... next is the custody needs assessment which is scheduled by family court. SO, my custody battles are not over yet.....
We've gained, allow me to rephrase, there's two more mouths for me to feed in the house. I casually mentioned a small bird would be nice. Allow me to stress I casually mentioned - not expecting anything. Well, my fault again for showing hubby another local joint, the Saturday night auction in the next town. I used to go in 6-9th grade w/my Dad for horse stuff, straw/hay. Now, at age 40, I'm back in the auction house just to show Dave & his buddy what was there. I left and they stayed. They came home w/ 2 parakeets for me. 2 young birds -- $14. At two different pet stores, one bird is over $16 so getting two for less than the price of one is a bargain.
SO, yes, two more mouths for me to feed. And another cage. I also have two betta fish bowls and the one dog is "my" protector.
At the auction, I mentioned how cute the rabbits were. Sigh... my fear is that's the next pet (or dinner!)
I should feel lucky -- Dave was eyeballing the young goat and his buddy the pot bellied pig at the auction. The next pet could be a goat for Dave.
So ladies... that was my Saturday night & today --- getting used to the new house members.0 -
Barb...Love it! ya know, animals do help relieve stress....are the birds the talking kind? that could be fun! how nice of your dh to think of you and bring you a gift! Hope all are fed and ready for a quiet nite! Please keep us updated on the new critters at Barb's house!

Had a great day today took the kids on a 2 mile hike and picnic down by the water in the state park, It was overcasty but at the end the sun came out and it was nice.
Came home then skated with the family and a skate friend for an hour or so, then made potatoe salad and went to her house for a bbq. ate a little meat:noway: and 3 chocolate dipped strawberries taht she mad, and two beers...:sick: This might not have been a good idea. But I did have a great time.
Kelly, sorry about the salt intake! It sounds like it was aweful.

Happy Monday folks! Here's to all of us and a great SHGP week! Taking one day at a time here and will focus on my goals! Well, my swelling continues to get better each day. Starting to see my veins again in my feet. I think I am down almost 7 lbs since Sat eve. ALL FLUID. Unbelievable! My cals for the last 3 days have been in the 1300-1500 range. Will increase that as I start exercising again today. I will be going to my niece and nephews 4-H dog show today...but some house work first.
Vita ~ sounds like you're having some really fun times.....all the activity you are doing will surely balance out with your foodies! take care!

Hey all
Computer was acting weird all weekend and helped Mom. She still down Agh!! Got started on the way over due spring cleaning. Took me over an hour to do the bathroom. It was bad!!:noway:
Well so Sunday took the youth to Incrediable pizza for food and games. Sarted good went straihgt to the salad bar, then a baked potatoe. But it wasn't long til I hit the pizza:frown: but then played air hockey and putt putt so hopefully that burned some calories.:embarassed:
So Feeling good this morning got up before work and hit the gym. 30 min of walking and 30 min of core training. So tomoorrow all I do is walk yeah:drinker:
Need to trian for 5 k for Aug 7th.
SO Congrats Miss V on the roller derby

Well had my computer issues this week end as well. Took an hour to log on to the sight and my son had his friend over all week end so could not use his. Yesterday was so busy at work I could not log on. so all that hope of logging in all week end did not happen. I will try again this week end.
On a better note. Have been good eating my veggies, fruit and water. still too hot for exercise but sticking to calories. Today is busy too but took a min to check in.

So did so much better yesterday was only over calories by 117. So happy that I am being more focus, I also slept like 10 hours, havent done that in a long while. Felt good. So goal today

Well ladies Piney & Angel seem to be adjusting to their new home. Piney (male) is a yellow/green. Angel (female) is white. My dog is very jealous when I talk to the birds. He pulls out a toy and brings the toy to me. The parakeets chrip... not a lot...not very loud. I'm sure as they continue to get used to us...they will become noisier....
Ok, Hubby is sweet, good man, I love him. But when he brings home 6 cream donuts from Wawa......I kinda wonder where his mind is.... that was last night. I ate 1 and he ate the rest. However, I didn't need the one. I know he's not intentionally "ruining" my good intentions.

Well, played tennis for a little today which was good hadn't played in a long time! Then went to derby practice tongiht and just came home to eat a late dinner....food in the house isnt veggies or fruit anymore....need to wait tillpayday to get them..;( BUMMER! but I am super tired! fell hard at practice tonight on my hip so I am hurting good night peppers!0

Kelly - NJ had bad thunderstorms yesterday morning. This morning was grayish when I left the house. The passing showers should stop by afternoon.
Jacque - I had read that lack of sleep causes our bodies to "retain" weight. When individuals get enough sleep, they can lose weight. There was a magazine article I read about this. 6-8 women tracked their sleep habits for 6-8 weeks. Those who increased the amount of sleep - lost pounds or inches. Sleep was the only change they did during this period. The food & exercise remained the same. Perhaps we all need to be Sleeping Beauty.0 -

Barb sometimes even though they are trying to be nice they dont think, my dh does things like that all the time and I am now saying sorry I cant have that today. It is so hard but I wont eat it. A couple of weeks I would have gobbled it down but I really want this and the only way is to cut out the goodies. Sometimes I do cave.
Kelly you are doing so well, you are motivating me with all the exercise you are doing.
Jacque, Barb is right sleep is important. Glad you got some in. I am in bed by 9PM every night and up at 5AM every morning except the dog lets me sleep until 6AM on week ends :laugh:
Hope all Peppers are doing well.
Eating my veggies and fruits, need to drink lots of water today my sodium was horrible yesterday and need to flush it out.

Well didn't walk yesterday but worked out in the pool for 40 min and then lesurily swam for another 20 Which was good cause I ate like a pig during dinner. really need to get my portion size down at dinner.:noway: Gor 5 glasses of water in need to increase that. Did stay under my calories but my fat was up a little so the only goal I made was the food. Oh yeah did not get to bed til 11:30 so def got to work on that!!!:grumble:

Well I am hurting today no bruise or anything but it is hurting! gona take it easy today ! Needed a loving breakfast so made french toast today! It wasnt SO bad for me only had 2 slices and it as small bread. But I hadn't had any for YEARS! it was great!

Afternoon Pepper's,
Already got 5 glasses of water down, feeling bloated so I am drinking lots more. I am so glad everyone is motivated. :drinker: I love seeing all the progress and wow everyone is exercising I really miss my walks. Will be starting shred again this week end. maybe I will try to get it in the morning. It is hard to do it at 5AM and my guys take all my attension the couple of hours after work before bed. Not sure how I am going to get my exercise during the week in. :grumble:

So going to moms tonight until bed time so I am going to get my swim on. Moms ordering pizza but already firgured in how much I can eat so I won't go over. Got 6 glasses of water in so far. so far, the meals have been good. For supper I am having a turkey burger on a whole wheat sandwich thin, fresh chopped veggies in olive oil, garlic & vinegar, baked tostitos and fresh salsa. my evening snack will be air popped popcorn
I hope you all can agree with me saying that exercising and working out does make one feel better, completely! I long for the day (life) when I will no longer fret about what to do and when...that it will just be routine and consistent....and I will look forward to sweating!
oh, and I just wanted to add, looks like the pepper ladies are on a roll now! keep it up gals, let's get up and do it all over again tomorrow!0
