Snack Ideas

Hi Everyone!

I am looking for some healthy snack ideas. I typically eat a piece of fruit or dried fruit or a serving of almonds but I need some other options. I am worried if I don't mix it up, I will end up grabbing Oreos! What are your go to snacks?

    PB and apple
    PB and celery
    Dried veggies
    Strawberries and pistachios
    Yonanas
Fiber one brownie, spread with PB and sprinkled with cinnamon
Half a toasted sandwich round, spread with PB and sprinkled with cinnamon
    Popcorn and cheese
    Popcorn and V8
    Cheese and V8
Brookside dark chocolate fruit flavored candies with half a serving of almonds

And, often, that half servings leftovers sitting in the fridge.
  • String cheese has about 80 calories per stick.

Carrot or celery sticks with hummus

    Hard Boiled Egg

    Orange

    Strawberries (they're cheap right now)

1 slice of Ezekiel bread with a little peanut butter and honey will come up to about 250-300 cal

    Air popped popcorn

    Cherry Tomatoes

Baby Carrots dipped in greek yogurt mixed with ranch mix seasoning

    crispy roasted chickpeas

    I love frozen grapes!

Also make your own sorbet if you have time. Freeze bananas or watermelon etc and put it through a food processor. Refreeze and break it up again then put it back through the food processor until you get the consistancy you like.

Lastly Banana pancakes (no flour required)
1/3 c mashed banana mixed with one egg. Fry it up like normal (they won't bubble like regular pancakes but will turn a nice golden brown) You can add cinnamon to the mix or top it with cinnamon and a little honey. I make up a bunch of these on Sundays and keep them in the fridge. They keep pretty well, just toss one in the microwave for about 20 seconds to reheat. Its perfect for an after workout snack. Heat up the pancake and top it in peanut butter and enjoy :)

On days I exercise before work I (nick) some of my boyfriend's protein shake. That does me til lunchtime usually after breakfast!
Others.... again my boyfriends protein bars (really need to stop nicking his things)
    Fruit
    Cashew nuts
    Carrots dipped in hummus

I'd try to mix it up daily to help stop you getting bored. Would also recommend drinking lots of water :-)
