I really think you have done an amazing job on your weight loss journey! Keep at it!!
And as far as the comments I'm reading on here, it's funny that I had to go back and reread your post to even see the "religious" portion....if all you can focus on in this post is the bible study and not well earned results, then move on and don't bother posting your thoughts...just...sayin'!0 -
Congrats to you on your progress!
You should probably edit out the religious stuff, though. Keep that in private groups, because a lot of us don't believe in your imaginary friend, and it's considered a 'divisive' topic.
I'm an atheist myself but atheists generally don't preach. What makes life viable is the ability to chose your own beliefs. It crosses the line when you tell someone else how to live there's and the advice is unsolicited. Awesome weight loss!
She mentions "bible study" specifically. Any reasonable person who actually studied the Bible would find it offensive. I am not preaching or telling her how to live her life. I just asked her to remove offensive subject matter from her post so we could focus on the positive aspects of her post- she has done a wonderful job of losing weight.
She is not being offensive! YOU ARE!!! Why can't you just congrats her on her wonderful loss and leave it at that?0 -
Only 3.5 months?!! Well done! I applaud your dedication and your life choices. It takes a lot to be a committed wife and mom while incorporating health and fitness into your everyday life. Let 'em talk, to God be the glory! They can't change that.:laugh:0

Hi :flowerforyou:
Firstly, congrats on your progress. I'm going on holiday to the Greek Islands in three months and have just come back to mfp after a break in order to get a more 'beach ready' bod:laugh: . It is VERY inspiring and motivating to see what can be achieved in three months as your 'before' pics look like me now
Secondly, like others on here, I am also a non-believer but can't understand how someone has objected to your description of your activities. When I saw the reply I honestly had to look back at your opening post to see what on earth the person was objecting to! And I still couldn't see it! I thought you must have editied something out, but clearly you didn't. I think there is nothing wrong with saying you study the bible (indeed I think most atheists should have studied it to some degree in order to decide it's not for them!) I've seen far more 'in your face' religious stuff on here.0 -
Thank you for sharing! It is really an encouragement to me and I'm sure many others. Keep it up!0

Well said figureformin !0

You look wonderful! Congratulations! Thanks for posting -- you've really inspired me.0

You look amazing!! Great job on your progress. I agree, "not having enough time" is an excuse. WTG!! :happy:0

I am not going to edit the fact that I go to church and bible study because you don't believe. That is fine. I am simply stating the fact that I live a busy life and have found time to make it work. It could be anything in that time that I commit to, but this is what it happens to be, and this is me! I am not going to change who I am for other people, or what I have to say about my journey, nor would I expect you to do the same. It is fine that you believe what you do. I would not ask you to change your comment or your profile pic for that matter because it is a "divisive topic." I think you are reading more into it than is there. And I never mentioned an "imaginary friend" you added that.
Edited to say: And thanks for the Congrats!
Good for you!! Oh, and congrats on your progress!0 -
Congrats!! Great progress!!!
I seriously cannot belive some of the responses... pety pety.0 -
What a great encouragement. Thanks for posting, you look fabulous.0

I think your user name should be 1busymama, that you find time in a day to workout is amazing. Just goes to show that some of us are better time managers than others. Keep up the great work!
I would be in the others group, as I am horrible at managing my time. I thought I should clarify that before I get blasted for belittling others. I workout 6 days a week and most of the time it is late at night because I didn't manage my time very well or I just procrastinated to long.0 -
She is not being offensive! YOU ARE!!! Why can't you just congrats her on her wonderful loss and leave it at that?
EXACTLY. Her success should be the focus, this isn't a place to bring others down.0 -
Amazing transformation in just three months! Thanks for sharing - keep up the good work :-)
You are motivating me to reach my goal!0 -
Great job on the transformation. keep it up.0

Some have asked what my starting and current weights are:
Starting was 210 on Jan 1 and current is 192. My goal is 165 or so depending on the muscle
*************As far as religious stuff...we are keeping our discussions private and I would appreciate NO ONE bashing anybody for their beliefs or comments on here no matter what! The subject is now private so please let's not keep at it!
Thanks!0 -
You are doing amazing, keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing!0

agree! Congrats on your efforts!0

For Norah's sake...it's about her amazing wonderful weight loss, let's not bash anyones faith here.0

@Ascolti_la_mu - Bless your heart, I will pray for you because as Christians, it is our job to help the mentally disabled which apparently you are. No worries though, I dont judge, I just pray.0 -

Feel free to talk to yourself as much as you need to. It's a little funny how you judge me for not sharing your delusion in one sentence, then claim not to judge in your next.0 -
Hi, I wanted to encourage others to not give up too soon. This is my second account on MFP I was off and on for at least 3 years, but since Jan I have been more devoted, and I have proof that persistence pays off. I am a business owning mother of 2 who homeschools, works from home, keeps up my marriage, attends church and bible study each week, I am the only one who cooks and cleans our house since my hubby works 50hrs a week. That being said ... "not having time" is an excuse. If it is important to you, you will find time!
I have an amazing support system here on MFP, not so much at home. I live over 1000 miles away from friends or family so I had to take control of the people who I surrounded myself with on this journey to a new life...and I have the best group of women to team up with!
Here is what I have done... I have completely changed the way I eat. I rarely eat fast food or at restaurants, I measure my food, and I try to make the healthiest choices I can. I love to cook and adapt recipes. I drink coffee in the am (usually 1 cup) the rest of the day it is water or occasionally almond milk. I got to this point not by jumping all in, I got here by taking baby steps. The first thing was to log my food. Then I started to focus on healthier choices of foods I was already eating. Cut out soda, cut out greasy fast food, etc.... Taking these small steps has made it easier to get through the changes. I added exercise in trying many different programs until I found one that I love. I am using Pauline Nordin's Butt bible (message me if you have ??) I my last day is tomorrow it is about 6 weeks long, although I took a big longer to nurse an injury. I am doing it again with higher weights starting next week. I also hope to run my first 1/2 marathon in Sept! But I found what I love and I stuck with it!
Every time in the past I attempted to lose weight I would give up because I felt like I was being restricted too much at once. NO more restrictions. I enjoy food, but in better for me forms. The last thing I did was work to support others. I built my team by being to them what I needed from them. I cheer my pals on and they cheer me on. I am not afraid to cut people out who eat unhealthy or who have little to nothing to say. I have a fantastic team and we all have pushed each other that our total weight loss as a whole is in the hundreds! Ok, enough talk ... here are my pics.
***I know I have a long way to go, but I did this in 3 1/2 months! You can too!***
