? No...it's just a temperature. Cold showers are good as part of intense excercise recovery, but aside from that, no.
  • you're probably better off drinking the water for skin benefits.

I can tell you that after a morning run nothing feels as good as a cold shower. It really helps to cool you down when you're hot and sweaty.

    Tone WHAT skin?

Usually I hear skin looks a little more wrinkled after a cold shower, depending on application.

I always rinse my hair after conditioning with cooler water. Apparently it locks in the moisture and helps things look shiny!

    Cold water will:

    invigorate after exercise
    tighten pores
    make hair shinier after conditioning
    make nips hard
    make other things less hard
help people with rheumatological ailments sleep (I have a rheumatological ailment, my rheumatologist recommends tepid or as cold as I can handle and it helps)

    Cold water will not:

    make anyone less fat
    de-age skin
    heal anything

    Cold showers? Pfft.

Cold baths are where it's at. Fill the tub with cold water from the tap and jump in for 20-30 minutes. (Unfortunately, the water gets a little too warm in the summer here, so I'm considering buying a large ice maker.)

Nah, cold showers just wake me up and refresh me. Cold shower to wake you up; hot bath to relax you and help you sleep.
