Picninc lunch / car munchies

I am going to be driving for about 6 hours. 3 hours at breakfast time and 3 hours in the afternoon. I need to pack myself breakfast and lunch and eat while driving. I usually eat while driving to keep myself awake, especially in the afternoon when I get tired. But in trying to balance healthy food and portion control of junk food, I am finding myself stumped on car friendly foods that I can munch and munch on. (In the past it would be dr. pepper, chips, cookies, etc, but the portion sizes of those that I can have now, just would leave me hungry and tired, and trying to stay awake on a lonely drive.

What would you suggest?

    1) not to eat while driving because it's not safe
    2) going out of the car to eat something because it would probably help wake you up. Even if it's just to stop in a rest area to eat your packed lunch
    3) personally, I'd eat a big breakfast before leaving and just pack a protein bar, a banana and an apple or something.

Try a small cooler with grapes that you have already removed from the stems, carrots cut into small, round slices, and sliced cucumbers.

Sliced cucumbers is a great idea, I think I'll do that, thanks!

    Green/mint tea.

    Bag of baby carrots
