Calling all Chocoholics!

Dark chocolate wouldn't work for me. I eat fun-size packs of dairy milk buttons when I'm craving it, just enough to satisfy without going overboard.0

i use chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark) and almonds. I'm a muncher, so the more time i have to savour my chocolate, the better. if I'm not up to almonds, I'll mix the chocolate chips in with vanilla greek yogurt. Yum!0

I usually have some form of chocolate every day! I did just buy the Trutein Peanut Butter Cup protein powder. Two cups almond milk, one scoop powder, 185 calorie chocolate peanut butter breakfast! YUM!0

Allow yourself a bit everyday.
And change your profile pic to confront your temptation... :laugh:0 -
chocolate protein shakes - definitely help. Or decent quality chocolate protein bars. Other than that I try to have some high cocoa chocolate and a couple of squares (just had some!) keep you going.0

I'm addicted, too - it's a problem!0

This is the thread where I will also confess to sometimes gnawing on raw cacao beans. They sell them at places like co-ops and Whole Foods. I haven't picked any up since I started calorie counting, but I've been thinking about them lately!0

Put your chocolate in the freezer...then don't chew it let it melt. Pull out one piece at a time!
I got these chocolate bars and stuck them in the fridge (they would have melted in the kitchen so I stuck them in the fridge) a serving is like 6 pieces for 220 calories I think. Well I will eat only 3 pieces as "desert" if I have any after dinner. The rate I go, this bar might last me a week!0 -
I eat the Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies.0

Chocolate Covered Katie!0

Some low fat chocolate covered bars are quite satisfying. My favourite is Tesco reduced fat crispy orange bars. They're small but sweet and usually seem to do the trick. No good if someones waving a bag of Galaxy Minstrels in front of me though lol0

Pick rich, dark, expensive chocolate. A little will satisfy, and if it's pricey, you won't binge on it.0

Here's some of what I use for chocolate fixes
- Dark Chocolate (70% cacao or higher)
- Chocolate Protein Powder
- Frozen Hot Chocolate (1.5 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tbsp honey, 1.5c almond milk, tsp vanilla extra, & ice blended) Only 128 calories.
- Chobani Vanilla Chocolate Chunk (high in carbs, IMO & has sugar but oh well its good anyways)
- Raw Chocolate Pumpkin Macaroons (recipe below)
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1/4 cup pecan flour (or almond flour)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 cup raw organic honey
2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
pinch of salt
Mix dry ingredients, add wet ingredients, stir, and scoop out rounded balls. Refrigerate for about an hour to solidify. Keep store in fridge or freezer and serve cold.0 -
Like everyone else said, dark chocolate is much much better for you and you can't eat as much of it!
Otherwise I agree that a choc flavoured diet whey protein shake hits the spot
Other people I know have also recommended a cup of low cal hot choc0 -
Instant 'add water' hot chocolate does it for me!
Options Hot Chocolate is only 38 calories0 -
I allow myself to indulge while counting calories and I continue to lose weight! Bittersweet dark chocolate square with 1/2 teaspoon almond butter... 79 calories0
-
So far since Jan 31 I haven't had any chocolate but since reading this thread now I want chocolate LOL0

I didn't think I could cope without chocolate so gave it up for a year. I wish I'd stayed off it as I am a chocoholic. I'm not eating chocolate anymore though until I'm at a healthy weight. I have to give it up totally it's the only way for me, a little bit is never enough but if I stop it I can cope because I can stay focused.0

I have the same problem! I agree with other posters: dark chocolate is the way to go to cut out choc cravings. If I'm craving something sweet, I'll have fruit or a snack with peanut butter. If I'm craving chocolate, I'll eat some in moderation.0
