When will I see results?

Hello Everyone!

I just want to know if I am doing something wrong. I have been getting at least 60 minutes of exercise most days of the week and have cut out all junk foods besides maybe a treat like ice cream or a slice of pizza during the weekend. The scale has definitely shown that I have lost some weight as I have gone from 120 to about 115 which was my desired weight. I am quite short, only 5'2 but I can't actually see any difference. I tend to store weight in my thighs and I know that I can't spot reduce with cardio but I need to lose fat there...what can I do?

Sometimes the first 5-10 pounds are just water weight.

Keep going, although to me, 60min cardio everyday seems a bit excessive to me. I'd reduce it to 5 to max 6 days (30-45min) have a day off to rest.
As long as you keep within your daily macro (cal/prot/fat/sodium/fiber) you should be seeing result in a few weeks. You should keep it up for at least 4-8 weeks before seeing any major results.

Probably the best way to see any results is to take weekly measurements.

Okay I will and thank you! and by the way some days are just going for a brisk walk. Since I'm young I thought that it would be fine on the days that I don't run just because I hate just sitting around doing nothing/

when did you start this? how many cals a day do you eat? i also think 60 min cardio is a lot . what was your start weight and end weight goal? I am also 5.2 ft and i had 22 lbs to lose but my final target was 27 lbs. I was 142 and wanted a final goal of 115. a year and a half at it now and i still have never seen 115 lbs :( my weight has come of super slow and i didn't see any changes till almost at the 2.5 month mark, which was a 5 lbs loss. it took 1 full year to lose 20 lbs.
  • Hello Just started the Fitness Pal 5 days ago. Already lost 3 pounds. I'm sure water weight. Love this calories counting. My problem was to many calories a day. I'm 51 and want to loose 15 pounds started @ 160 so excited to do this. Going on a cruise in 20 days and excited to see results. Love this site.

Well it has been a little over a month and I started at 120lb. When I say 60 minutes, some days its literally just a brisk walk as I am not really active during the day when I am not working out. Is that really too much for my body to handle? and I eat about 1400 calories a day

well you are at a really good weight for your height so the loss will be uber SLOW! you may need to increase your cals and do you eat your exercise cals back?

If you want to lose inches, start weight lifting. Or even 30 day shred, insanity, p90x. All great things to help with trouble areas.

^^This^^ Weight lifting would probably get you to the next level that you are looking for. I just started New Rules of Lifting for Women to assure that I am shaped the way I want to be shaped & not be "skinny fat".

Most people tend to notice when you lose 10%+ of their weight, so when you hit around 12 lbs you'll probably start to notice. Other people may start noticing at bit earlier. Good luck!

I would suggest going to the gym and actually lifting rather than doing insanity. insanity is still cardio based. read up on this, because composition could be a huge thing for you since you seem to be small anyways..
