I don't want a funeral. I want a party on the beach in the Keys where my family presently goes camping and where my best friend/uncle is already. I want them to scatter my ashes at sundown, and I want them to fish all night and camp out afterward. So, I want a LOT of songs played.

Definitely (because they would remind anyone of me who ever knew me, not for lyrics so much):

    Underground by Kimya Dawson
    Mambo Italiano by Rosemary Clooney
    African Herbsman by Bob Marley
And It Stoned Me by Van Morrison

Lots and lots of Tom Petty, Bob Marley, and Stevie Wonder.

I have no idea... kind weird to think about. However, my husband's aunt just passed away last Saturday at age 56 after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer. Because she knew she was dying she had the chance to plan out her funeral in great detail. I know she planned on having "It's My Life" by Bon Jovi played. She loved Bon Jovi. I love that song, and now I'll probably always think of her everytime I hear it.

Three little birds- Bob Marley :)

And if I have my way- my funeral will be a party with music and food and wine, and laughter!

I'm still trying to decide between traditional and what I really like. I did a funeral pre-plan a few years back. I thought I was going to get the okay to have gastric bypass surgery. (Dodged that bullet) In the funeral pre-plan I asked for On Eagles Wings. But if I really sat and thought about it...Somewhere Over the Rainbow is what I'd really like. But since I am here losing weight, getting fit, and tryng to avoid a heart attack or stroke I feel like I may have awhile longer to really plan it out. But ya got me thinkin' :)

I heard mine come on my music system today (it's on shuffle so don't hear it too often) Free Spirit by Marc et Claude.
It's not really appropriate but I like and want it played at the crematorium.

And Amazing Grace. Seems cliche'-ish but it has come to have great meaning to me.
