Donating Plasma while trying to eat 1500 calories a day

So I'm currently aiming for 1500 calories a day and exercising 3-4 times a week. I am also donating plasma at a local center twice a week (as much as they'll let me). I find that when I eat to get enough protein, I almost always over eat over my calorie goal.

Is it healthy to eat 1500 calories and donate plasma at the same time? Anyone have any experiences?

  • Yes, donating plasma is different then donating your red cells so it's much easier on your body. You are not losing your red cells or platelets. I worked at a blood bank for 10 years. Eat something before, but it's not hard on your body. Your body replenishes it every couple days.
