Hello all. I am now to myfitnesspal. I had lap band surgery on May 27, 2010 and am now looking to really working hard at losing the weight. I started at 394 and am currently sitting at 358. But have not been following my plan. Most of the weight I lost was due to water and cutting out sodas. I have been plateaued here for the past month and need to start really watching what I am eating. I am starting a cardio and weight training program today. I look forward to meeting people, providing support, and working toward our common goal.

Outside of that I am a mother to two wonderful boys ages 11 and 5. I have a fantastic boyfriend who I have been with for 7 months now. We dated in high school but have reconnected and are doing great. I am also a fifth grade teacher so I do have quite a full schedule most days. In addition I have been working on my PhD... You would think I don't have time to eat but to be honest, I am addicted to food. I think about it like a drug addict thinks about their next hit.

So all that aside, I can't wait to meet new people and get this wagon rolling :)

Hi! I am sending a friend request if you are interested. I too think about food ALL DAY LONG. But honestly after using this tool since March, I have found that I think about the food, but only act on those thoughts when it is meal or snack time. It has helped me identify what foods are not good for weight loss.

A few hints (as these work for me)
    Chew gum
    Drink tons of water
Try not to snack as you cook (holy moly I would eat tons while I was in the kitchen and by dinner I only ate because everyone else was, not because I was hungry)
I keep dried fruits and nuts for snacks. I put the amount that is listed as a serving into a bowl, then close the container and put it away.

But if you want to friend me, you can see my food log and maybe that will help you see some other foodie's intake.

    GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
