Hi...I've just started trying to lose weight and get fit with myfitnesspal. It has put me on a 1200 calorie plan which I have no problem with. The only thing I need help with is when and what to eat! Yesterday, I have fruit for breakfast, a salad with chicken for lunch, snacks consisting of veggies and tea, and then I had chicken for dinner along with corn and green beans. I then worked out and ate back some of my calories with grapes and whey protein. Am I eating too much fruit? I just really need help with planning everything out! Thank you in advance.

sounds fine to me however you will get a lot of mixed responces here
some people will tell you to eat no lower than your BMR and some will tell you do eat at TDEE-20%
its really up to you in the end tho, if you feel like you need to eat more then work out your BMR and eat at that or if you get stuck in a plateau, upping calories almost always breaks you out of it.
But yeah good luck0 -
Thank you so much!!0

I think it's too much fruit. Substitute the morning fruits with some eggs whites with veggies. Same calories but a lot less sugar. Remember, tomatoes are fruits.0

You should try to incorporate more protein since being on such a low calorie diet it will help to prevent you from becoming hungry and keep you sustained for longer than just fruit. I am on about a 1300 calorie diet, I go a bit higher sometimes because I exercise about 5 x a week for 90 minutes on average so I need to. I suggest you look into eating more eggs, maybe some tuna, chicken with lettuce (high water volume) with vegetables which are lower calorie than fruit, oatmeal and yogurt is also really good. If you need a sweet treat I really like 10 calorie jelly.0

I think you may be eating a little too much fruit. Like the others have said, you want to increase your protein intake. I'd suggest starting the day with greek yogurt with fruit mixed into it. You'll be eating a little less fruit, but increasing your protein, and it'll help you stay full longer.
I'm also on a 1200 calorie diet. Feel free to pop into my diary if you like. I'm not big on fruits/veggies, but I try to balance with carbs and protein. Maybe it can give you some ideas.
Good luck!0 -
You should eat more protein in you're going to do 1200, it'll make you feel fuller.
I'm on a 1200 diet as well, and I never feel tired/hungry/lethargic/anything. I attribute that to a good amount of protein.0 -
When I was on a 1200 calorie diet, I found I just had to eat really small portions of everything and tried to bulk out as much of my meals as possible with low calorie veggies & fruit.
I had a good 2 months on 1200 and had good results, then I switched to 1400 which is far more manageable.0
