I know not everyone works out at a gym, but if you do, what do you like about it?

I love all the variety of machines, classes ~ the pool, sauna and even the massage table I end my workouts with :)

I love how mine is open 24-7.
  • YMCA, plenty of space and equipment, not many posers and great motivating and helpful staff. It is kept exceptionally clean- by all the staff including the great manager Mick.

I joined planet fitness that opened up by my house, monthly fee is cheap compared to other gyms and feels like a great value. I don't have any other gym experiences to compare it to but all the things they offer there I can't imagine needing much else.

Mine has two squat racks, bumper plates for deads, very few rules (other than that damn "no chalk" rule), and plenty of people that are there to lift and are friendly enough without being intrusive.
  • When I'm there, I'm in the zone. Nothing else matters. No interruptions. No distractions. Just me and my goals. <3

Its not part of a big chain, its 3 mins walk from where I work, its not over subscribed so I never have to wait too long for a bench or squat rack, its a bit worn and not trendy, it has squash courts rather than a pool, and they wash my kit for me every day

The sales manager there looks identical to my chubby chasing, roid raged, jerk of an ex boyfriend.

So I get SUPER MAD and super fueled before every workout :) Also, seeing him walk through the gym helps me push out a couple extra reps when I feel like I'm about to failure.

At first I was there just because it's the cheapest gym I could find and we're on a tight budget, but I've come to like that it's women only.

Its a chain and I travel alot so its nice to be able to go to other gyms when Im away or that I can suspend the payments so I dont hve to pay when Im not there. Always something to do so I dont get bored. Lap pools for adults only, climbing gym, tons of classes, turf field inside and ouside, lots of room in the weights section, access to the class rooms when they are not in use to do whatever.
  • I love that they have equipment that works with my HRM. I also love that there are times of day when I'm the only person there.
  • It has an indoor track so I can run without having to worry about the weather or about falling off of a treadmill.

It is a serious gym with pretty much everything someone could need for lifting. It doesn't have a separate dead lift area (the area that they want you to use is at the squat racks), but there's plenty of space and plenty of barbells and weights.

Its right across the street from where I live and it has a large free weight area and several squat racks.
