Vanilla Lime Protein Shake - lower calories
Options
Hi,
I drink at least one protein shake/smoothie a day - usually after workouts. Sometimes I need to add another if my protein is low for the day. But I always have to add fruit because the vanilla protein powder on it's own does not taste good to me. But fruit/sugar calories add up quick. So...
Today i tried this and it was so delicious. Sonic has a vanilla lime shake... I can't even imagine the calorie count on that!
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup cottage cheese (this made it creamy and less sweet)
1/2 cup water
1 lime wedge (I remove the skin and grate some of it and add back in as a garnish)
YUM!

Bump! Thanks for a great suggestion!
Can I ask what kind of cottage cheese you use in your shakes? The wet kind (in whey) or dry kind (no whey)? Thanks!0 -
I'm going to try this tomorrow... thank you!0
