Hey!
How do you guys keep motivated while on your period? I really struggle to eat right and not binge in everything that comes into my hands!
What you do on this days?

I hear ya! I don't get cramps, I get cravings and munchies! I always keep healthy snacks prepared and ready to go for me to grab them. Grapes, apple slices(paired with Natural Peanut Butter..Heaven!) Slices strawberries, blueberries. Raspberries stuffed with Dark and White chocolate chips, Almonds, trail mix, Veggies with hummus, etc. For the chip cravings I opt for Kale Chips, pop chips, apple chips or Breton POPPED chips.
The first day of my period is usually the worst. I feel blah and tired but I just force myself to workout! The motivation eventually comes! And afterwards I feel fantastic. I have yet to regret a workout0 -
I feel the same i try to eat ALOT of lean proteins and get a protein shake or protein pancake in there i just ate one actually. my sister just sleeps to keep from over eating i tried that it does work for a little but its not all that good for long term and on the go people. just try to eat dense foods and natural peanut butter is a good way to snack and make it last and stick to your bones0

same I have found that peppermint tea helps me a lot with that it makes me feel better and helps with the crankiness and cramps0
-
I deal with it. Just like I've been doing the last 11 or so years.0

Hi... I increase my water intake on those days to help fill me up and reduce some of the access bloat. I also allow myself to have three bites of one thing that I am craving and feel like I can't live without (usually some chocolate). I also try to plan ahead of these days, and lower my calorie intake a few days before, so I have a few extra "banked" to offset any slip ups (and, if I don't slip up - then I usually come out with a little less on the scale at the end of that week!) Good luck and let us know if you come up with some good ideas...0

I allow for the increase in calories, try to work out a little longer/more, and don't sweat the minimal weight-gain because it's lost afterward anyway.0
-
I let myself eat more and I exercise more. Running FTW!0
-
I sit in the corner of my room, holding myself and rocking back and forth while cursing my very existence and sobbing because Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez broke up AGAIN.0

Power through it, it actually helps with cramps and exercising often can sometimes lead to lighter periods. Just be active even if you don't feel like it, limit the snacking as you don't really need it... thats just your hormones talking. Try to treat those days like any other day.0

I have a hard time not binging but when I start pmsing, I buy a small box of candy and make it last and if irun out, well then I'm cranky I also have found I don't binge as much if I've been eating healthy the rest of the month0

Omg thank you! I thought I was the only one who did this!0 -
I used to always let my period derail me, even if I didn't have symptoms!! I'd be like "well I'm PMSing so I'm gonna eat that cake anyways" and "I'm just too tired to work out because of my period" LOL I really think it's all mental!! Pop some midol and push through it!!!0

AHAHHAH
Today I just went for an extra workout session and it worked, it improved my mood, although the cravings are not gone i feel happier and that motivates me to stay on the diet. I find very difficult to control the cravings when i'm unhappy
I will try some of ur tips!!!0 -
I b*tch about being a female, have a square of chocolate, then go to the gym.
But in all honesty, exercising really helps.0 -
I eat all the chocolates. And the chips. Then I break out the dynamite and go boxing.
Dynamite.. ya know... the stick with the string.0 -
I treat it like any other day and do the same things I always do. While it may be a little more challenging, I find that it's best not to use it for an excuse to do less than my best.0

I get superemotional. And I run it out. (also, strong language, be advised )
Crying? Run away from whatever makes you sad.
Laughing? Jog lightly towards more joy!
SUPERANGRY?! CHASE THAT MOTHEREFFING PIECE OF **** IN FRONT OF YOU, no matter if it is a car, tree, rabbit, w/e.
Oh, and the best thing is that I have moodswings of doom so it really is a high intensity interval training session0 -

I hate everything right now. TOM is so annoying it makes me wanna punch someone.
Good thing I have boxing tomorrow! Yay! :drinker:
And I want to eat all the chocolate cakes in the world then lie down, hug myself, try not to cry & cry a lot. LMAO
I'm seriously grabbing one later. Woot!
Cray-cray hormones. SMH0 -
I'm over that now, but I usually had so much intense pain I would eat very little, due to nausea.0

I've never had a huge issue with cramping, so it doesn't effect me too much. I will say that certain kinds of tea help me with stomach pain... I believe peppermint and chamomile are both good. I also drink lots of water. If I'm really craving something sweet (which, for me, is more of an every day of the month thing) I get a lowfat smoothie or make one at home. If cramping is keeping you from exercising I strongly recommend taking a nice, long walk. Walking in nature helps me center myself and find some peace... it's good alone time and will allow you to breathe for a bit.0
-
Um I dont get unmotivated...i honestly dont see why it would effect you that you cant workout unless you get cramps and pain that are so excruciating that it enables you....if i can go about and run and play and focus in class and go do anything else I want...I can workout.....
its just how i am though, workouts relieve me0
