    "I'm not a racist but..." is one that drives me crazy.

    Any introductory phase that ends with a "but" statement. It only means whatever you are trying to say in that statement is a bald faced lie.

    "I'm not trying to be an a-hole, but....", "I hate to be offensive, but..."

    They should all just end in the phrase"...I am."

    As a supervisor of a sizeable department, I really hate when people come to tell me something and start with, "You know me. I never complain, but...."

    It's always the same 4 or 5 complainers, and they always launch into a 30 minute complaint, which targets everyone else's behavior and ignores their own bad behavior. :grumble:

    Every freaking day... Every freaking day. It's why my hair is disappearing.

    I can get behind people occasionally saying "I know this will sound horrible" and whatnot, because I'm occasionally the douche muffin (LOVE THAT PHRASE!) that says something terrifically stupid and offensive. I rarely mean to. I'm just bad with words sometimes and I offend the hell out of people that I was only trying to communicate with.

    That said, you still gotta own it. When I say something stupid, I pause and then say "Hey. You're right. My comment was insensitive. I'm sorry."

    Some of the others already mentioned are pet peeves of mine. 'No offense, but...' is my biggest annoyance.

    The two phrases that are currently annoy me are "just sayin" and "cray cray". It takes more time to type and say "cray cray" than it toes to type or say "crazy". Not to mention it makes you sound like a uneducated baffoon.

    "With all due respect" drives me nuts because no one ever uttered that as a sentence opener and then said something respectful.
