I've lost 43 pounds. I started a year ago. While I was losing I was at around 1200-1300 cal per day. Now I'm on maintenance at 1740. I try to do something active every day. I love the Jillian Michael's videos.

I'm a little over 5'5. I haven't reached my goal yet. I got close to it, but then I went to college... Anyway I eat about 1250 calories a day, and it works for me :D
Sorry, I can't say what my maintenance is, but I'd like to hear what other people here have to say that theirs is.....

Thanks, that's a really helpful answer. Can I just ask, when you say at maintenance is that net calories or intake only?

I'll bite. I am 5'5 1/2". Started at 145 and my original goal was 130. reached that and now I would like to sculpy my physique a bit more so I am not really concerned about the scale but I imagine that I will not try to go lower than 125 as I have an athletic build and a medium frame and lower than that would probably look unhealthy. So, I originally started at 1200 but I was starving (I work out 5+ days a week for 2 hour sessions)! Upped it to 1350. Then started really researching BMR/ TDEE and realized I could eat way more and still lose! Not only could I eat more, but I should eat more since I exercize so much. Now my goal is at 1500 a day plus I usually eat back some amount of my workout calories so I net around 1500 daily. Still loosing weight steadily...take that 1200 calories (no offense to anyone that it works for)!

I've changed my GW 3 times now so I've surpassed my original goal but not eating the "maintenance level" yet. Basically once I started losing I realised I COULD actually do this so readjusted my goals to reflect that :)

    Height: 5'6
    SW: 165
    CW: 131.5
    GW: 125

I started @ 1200 calories but then realised it just WASN'T enough so I bumped it up gradually. Currently I net 1710, and I'm still losing :) How much I intake depends on how much I exercise. I am very active at work though and constantly moving so my activity level is high cause of that. 1710 might be too high for some people, or too low for others depending, but it's still working for me.

Edit: age is 26 and I've been working on this since the end of Sept :)

I ate 1550 plus my exercise calories when losing.
I am in maintenance now and eat a straight 2100-2200.

I'm not at goal just yet but I'm not too far off. I aim for 1400 daily, on my dieticians advice, but I'm usually a little under that (I do mean a little)..I've been at it for 8 months so far and though fairly slow found it easy and enjoyable even. I too would love to hear what people are eating at maintenance.

I'm 5'5" - I found that eating 1400+/- is a pretty good place for me to maintain my goal weight of 120, which I'm not at right now but I have been before. That includes working out, walking, cardio, lifting weights 1 hr/day, 5 day/wk

I turned 43 on 1/5 and began mfp on 1/7. I began at 219 lbs. My daily calorie goal is 1500. I am not exercising. I have lost 22 lbs thus far. My goal is 175 and then I will reevaluate.

I'm 5'6 and at my goal weight now of 135. I started at 245 and ate 12-1300 calories per day for the first 6 months or so, and then for the last 4-5 months I've been eating between 14-1600 calories a day. I haven't started maintenance yet, but it tells me that I can eat 1830 calories a day for that...
