I know that burpees are one of the best exercises that you can do, its like a total body work out.

Does anyone have any idea how many calories are burned by doing them? It seems like no one knows :(

Have a heart rate monitor (HRM) w/a chest strap? They are pretty accurate! I have a polar and LOVE it! Great investment!

I have a love/hate relationship with burpees. Mostly hate.

Someone else passed this tip along to me, and I thought it was a GREAT way to guesstimate calories when you truly have no idea what you burned. Estimate your level of effort on a scale of 1-10. One being sitting down doing nothing, 10 being sprinting full speed uphill. Use your fatigue level to determine this number, not how much you sweat! Then, take that number times the number of minutes you did it for. That's your ballpark estimate.

Oh, it's that killer exercise that is done during Insanity Max Interval Plyometrics. I didn't know the name, just knew it was hell. I thing Shaun T calls them level three drills.

I actually started doing burpees today they are a total work out, i looked up the calories cause I'm curious too and i found on 2 websites that it would be like 10 calories per minute bust its also based on the body of around 150 lb
I'll be adding it to the database :D but if it doesn't show up it's relatively easy to put it in.

It's gonna be based on your weight, intensity, and speed. Just do 'em!

Having used a heart rate monitor for almost two years, I gotta say: this is an excellent tip. I might steal it :)

Not really. The drills are going down, doing pushups and "running". Normal burpees are just down, plank, jump up and repeat. They are brutal though.
