Serious Question About Body Fat

Does body fat act as an insulator? I've noticed that when I'm cold, it tends to take a while for me to warm my body up and when I'm hot it takes a long time for me to cool down. Is this because of my body fat? Yes, I am significantly overweight.

I wish. But, no I get colder a lot easier now. Might be my age or it might just be how I am. I also get hot way too easily. I think the whole world should be 71.1 degrees because that is the right temperature.

think about animals that live in cold climates - they have a layer of fat (blubber) to help them stay warm. They don't do well in warm places - zoos often have to cool them if it gets warmer than usual. I feel the cold a lot more now than I did last year and I used to suffer in the heat. not so much now.
