Flexitarian Support

Hi ~ I am Laura and I am looking for friends who are "Flexitarian." I really want to delete meats from my diet permanently - I did well for a year, but then I started having concerns that I was not getting enough protein and started eating some meats again. Is there anyone who has been a Flexitarian for some time and can give me positive support in walking this journey?

Thanks.

Hi! I am a new vegetarian/vegan and totally supportive with an open diary if you want to add me. I do ever feel like I am not getting enough protein, have you tried quinoa?

Thanks, Ladies. I can use all the support possible. My flexitarian plan (or my idea of a plan) is to eat fish 2-3 times a week; otherwise eating more vegetarian. Yes, I have tried quinoa, as well as polenta, and I enjoy both. My challenge is I never had to cook much and I am new in the kitchen and have much to learn. However, I now cook for myself. My youngest son who is now 19 actually has been very supportive of my food adjustment (Flexitarian/Vegetarian), and he will eat most of what I prepare. I love to mix things up and feed on variety.

Thanks again for your support and friendship.

    :) laura

I'm vegetarian (thinking of going vegan - but I love cheese! lol). If you're worried about protein, I saw this topic yesterday: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/975479-vegetarian-or-vegan-protein-ideas
I posted in it with a bunch of protein sources and a link to my vegetarian pinterest board which has TONS of recipes.

Hi Laura! I'm a flexitarian as well! I gave up meat for Lent but decided that my body felt so much better without meat in my diet. Now I've cut down to eating it as little as possible. I'll only eat it if there isn't really another option, like if we got out to eat somewhere that doesn't have vegetarian options. Let's be friends!

I've been a flexitarian for around five years now. I eat fish/shellfish a couple times a week, meat once or twice a month and the rest either vegetarian or vegan. This works for me as I tried going vegan but even with a good variety of veggies and beans it just made me feel awful. There are tons of good veggie/vegan recipes out there so experiment and have fun :).
