When I track exercise I add treadmill from the database, my question is why does it add so much to my count? I do about 1.5miles in 30mins on it so it's not like I am going hardcore, yet it can sometimes add 250-300 calories to my daily goal? I am currently 298lbs so I am morbib obese, does being heavier somehow mean I burn more? was just hoping for something a bit more accurate rather than a generic "guess"

The general guideline I've heard for people around 160 pounds is approximately 100 calories per mile. Energy expenditure DOES vary by weight, though. 250-300 is probably right.0

To answer your question about heavier people burning more calories, it's yes they do. Also when someone starts getting into better shape, their heart rate does not go up as much so they do not burn as many calories. Mine changed quite a bit when I got under 200 pounds.0

Thanks for the replies
did a little more research and the numbers do seem to be somewhat accurate, heavier people do burn more, one of the perks I guess ha!
