I have the same problem. My waist is small but I find belts always help me.

I have the worst problems with pants. Jeans are never really comfortable because of the bagginess in the waist. I have a pair of BDG jeans (Urban Outfitters) with some stretch that are soft and fit okay. They're my favorites. I think the stretch helps balance out the fit in the thighs vs the waist.

Thank goodness for summer, so I can live in dresses!

I like an empire waist in dresses with an A-line cut... very sexy in a mini:smokin: make sure not to go too big or it will look frumpy.

Me!!! I have been avoiding jeans because I just can't find any that fit right. I wish I had a suggestion but for me right now I've just been wearing tights a lot and I'm happy because it's almost skirt/dress weather. New York and Company sometimes have jeans with stretch that work for me. I also found a pair at Maurices, I'm not sure of the name but they are like dress pants but denim and they are pull on. They are pretty comfortable. I hope someone else has some ideas.

I wear Van Heusen jeans. They have a tiny bit of stretch and no gaping at the waist. Pull on pants (not the granny style with the elastic waist =P ) are also great for me. When I find a pair of jeans that fits, I buy several pairs. Lots of fun trying to find clothes that fit these days because all the clothes are for people with no waist. =(

OMG yessssss! I know the feeling. After having lost so much weight I find myself with the same struggles in clothing I had in high school (the last time I was this size) I have to buy bigg to fit my thighs and butt! Then gappy waist, or just plain yuck! So I have found a cheap brand of jeans that I like, actually 3:

    1. Old Navy- Sweetheart Cut
    2. Target- Morona fit 1 (very hard to find as they are not low rise but more like mom jeans, higher waist)
    3 Levi's 515 straight leg

As my size is still fluctuating, I don't want to spend a lot of money so these are nice and cheap!

Edited to add: I am 5'3" very hourglass, size 10 and some 12's target brand size 8

Yes, I'm also an hourglass! I have trouble with finding pants that fit. I usually see if I can take in the pants at the waist if I really like the pants. I rarely find pants that fit perfectly. I also prefer workout pants with a drawstring! Oh, I almost forgot skirts. Some skirts may be to my knees in the front but is way up at the back lol. My butt takes up so much space. I do love my curves, but clothing can be a pain. I don't really go by name brand. It's usually just a hit or miss for me since different brands have different styles. I'll check out the brands mentioned.
  • Hey guys, try Levi's Curve ID. I always had problems before, even WITH Levi's, but it basically tailors the jeans to your body type. I mean, seriously? A perfect fit from online ordering on the first try? Awesome! It's really the only place I buy pants from now. Also their site is one of the most user-friendly shopping sites I've ever seen. Beautiful.

I agree with the Levi's Curve jeans recommendation.
Also Ann Taylor Loft's curvy cut jeans.
For dress pants, Ann Taylor's curvy cut pants. (I don't like Ann Taylor jeans, just the Loft jeans.)

In my experience, taking in the waist of jeans does not help the problem, although it does sometimes work for dress pants.
