My reasons for running change every day.
I started running because a friend lost 65 pounds running & I was envious.
I kept running because I loved how my legs looked/felt.
I started running in races because I cried when the above mentioned friend crossed the finish line of her first half.
I trained for (& ran) my first half to keep me sane during my boyfriends deployment last year.
I ran last week to have some quiet time with my SIL.
I ran today because my 10 year plans to beat me in a 5k this summer.

The booze & pizza don't hurt either :)

Every day I get on my treadmill and I think about a nice long walk, I usually walk for 5 minutes before I have to run, like have to. I love it. Every day before I get started I think "Ugh, I don't want to do anything today" then I get started and I can't help myself I just have to run =)

    P.S.
I love being outside and would love to be there when I run but my neighborhood isn't the best so I stick with the treadmill

I run for the feeling of being 10 years old again. I jump over logs, dodge roots, splash through puddles and feel like I did when life was uncomplicated. :-)

    1) for the sense of accomplishment. This is why I don't run on treadmills because I feel like I'm not going anywhere... but knowing "i ran through my entire neighborhood twice" feels pretty good.
    2) I run so I don't feel guilty eating a popsicle after dinner
    3) to shed the pounds faster
    4) its literally the only quiet time I get to myself where I don't have to deal with LIFE.

^This. It is just me, the music, my dog and thinking about my form. No room for anything else.

I run to remind myself that I can, because I have spent 27 years believing that I can't.

... the ability to have a slice of guilt-free birthday cake (my favourite!!) at social events doesn't hurt, either.

I run cause my trainer tells me I have to... I lift heavy cause I like to look damn good in the shower...

Amen! Liftin' all the heavy sh** makes our bodies sexy fit

Running as I do, makes me feel a lot closer to my Dad (who'd departed this life some years ago now) ~ whilst I visualise my day in the am/work off my stresses in the pm ~ discussing all that I need to with my sister ~ My psyche-in and my psyche-out.

This is what started me running : )
I run (well just started) because I CAN'T and that pisses me off. I hate when I can't do something I want to do. :)

    Hey, I'll run/walk the hell out of a 5k. :)

Oh, I'm also running because the thought of one day traveling to run in events excites me.

    I RUN FOR GAY CUPCAKES!!!

    deathcake-by-cupcake-royale.jpg?w=529&h=388

Motivation is sometimes being able to eat this chocolate deathcake knowing i burned 100 more calories in my run earlier that day than what is in the cupcake. I think that's legit.

So I can run away with the Doctor. But those cup cakes look pretty good too....
