Why I quit smoking weed
Replies

...because I stopped being 12 years old
Agreed. I grew up and matured.0 -
I quit the first time I ordered, and ATE, an entire large pizza by myself. I don't need anything that makes me even more of a hedon than I already am.0
-
I quit because....
no more like I started to save me hangovers....I'm pretty good though, learnt to handle munchies effectively without ripping my gums apart !!0 -
Say what you want about growing out of it or not being 12 anymore, but it really is medicine for some people.
The interesting thing about this is that people who smoke weed rationalize it as "medicine".
I am all for marijuana being used for medical purposes...and it is actually legal for those who need it for medical purposes! BUT most people who smoke it illegally DO NOT need it for medical purposes. It is just a fancy excuse to make it ok to smoke it recreationally.0 -

So what? Anybody who uses alcohol is no different. Except that alcohol doesn't actually have any medicinal purposes.0 -

I quit because my job did urinalysis on a regular basis. Got a Top Secret Security Clearance and it was on an even more regular basis. Just found other ways to chill...0

Oh...now we are talking about alcohol?0 -
quitters never prosper.
420 for life! lol :smokin:
:laugh:0 -
Personally, I haven't quit smoking, and most likely never will. I indulge in the good herb everyday, and now can do so legally since I live in Washington. Hooray!!0
-
Because the money I was spending on Turkey Hll iced tea for my wicked cotton mouth was exceeding the weed outlay.
And because the legal ramifications just weren't worth it to me after I was about 16
Side note? The fact it's illegal is total bull****, IMO0 -
Coincidence it's 4:20 long? But really, not everyone is THAT guy. Some people actually use it for medical conditions. ADHD, insomnia, depression... Just to name a few. You don't need to be out of your mind obnoxious just because you're high, though some people like to take it that far.
I had a psychologist who wanted me to use medical marijuana to help with my PTSD and anxiety, but since my issues were only problems when interacting with the outside world, where I couldn't just smoke my medical marijuana (or be high, seriously, I worked for a gov't contractor) I turned it down. I don't know if I was more shocked that she was suggesting or if she was that I turned it down outright.
Ugh, and the smell. I hate the smell of it.0 -
If you buy it from a ''source'' you have to trust them as to what you are getting. If you have a prescription it is medicine. If they truly want to regulate it as a medicine they should figure out how dispense it in a nebulizer or an inhaler. Smoking anything (,pipe, hooka, cigars, cigarettes, doobs) will damage your lungs, your larynx, your sinuses. I quIit smoking cigarettes 23 years ago and I still miss them. I haven't gotten high in about 10 years and that was once after 20 years.
I have a friend who goes through life smoking constantly. her brain is fried. Smiles all day long, friendly as hell. Can't tell her anything, she doesn't remember it and blabs stuff all over. And before you blow me off as a teetotaler, I do like a cold beer when i'm watching baseball. Or a very expensive martini when i'm out with friends. But no smoking please.0 -
I quit the weed b/c the booze worked so much better! I wanted to be the life of the party, not the stoned chick drooling on herself in the corner.0
-
I quit because I found tylenol pm.
I became aware of my Binge eating and I found Advil PM - lol0 -
I quit cuz the fridge would be empty the day after and the food network became like porn lmao
Hahaa!!!! I can relate....0 -

Yes. Because pot and alcohol are the most commonly used substances people use to relax, decompress or deal with anxiety. But under the law its okay for you to consume alcohol which is more impairing, deadly and has no recognized medical uses, but I cant smoke a joint which does have medicinal uses and is impossible to overdose on. If I'm not hurting anybody else why aren't I allowed to choose which one I use?0 -
I agree... Just because you toke a little doesn't automatically mean that you are immature or you behave like you're 12.
Some people could say that alcohol is actually a gateway *drug*. In all actuality most people have gotten tipsy before they've gotten "high" or tried anything else. Plus you really never hear about families being killed by a driver who smoked some pot.0 -

iknoright.
Pot is schedule 1 but coke is schedule 2. So by that logic the law says that pot is a gateway to something that less dangerous? umm....0 -
Yup...stoners are pretty much the least aggressive substance users you will come across!
I like a smoke, but it used to bug me when I still had sh&t to do but reaallllyy couldn't be bothered doing it because I had smoked. Now I'll only smoke if I'm done for the evening...it's a nice feeling and I get a great night's sleep!
As for the munchies...you're stoned, not drunk - you still have as much self control as you would on a normal day.
4:20 all the way! :smokin:0 -

I guess finding a healthy alternative to stress management is out of the question then?0 -
I only got through a little bit of the video, honestly, it's just another one of those 'I'm going to act how I perceive high people to act'. Stereotypical 'stoner-esque' mannerisms and actions which aren't accurate at all. Sad really, because I love weed culture movies (How High, Grandma's Boy, Half Baked...) and this just perpetuates a very biased stereotype.0
-
I avoid cause munchies0
-
because i ate waaay too much, was lazy as hell and paranoid. It shouldn't be illegal though IMO0
-
Oddly enough, for me it used to focus by ADD & help me get *kitten* done. My house was so freaking clean and my school work was never late.
Yeah I guess if you had ADD, it would bring you down to a functional level (while the rest of us go from functional to rotting lol)...never thought about it like that before!0 -

B/c I became a single mom and wasn't giving my ex d0uche can0e any reason to try to take custody away from me... and now I'm on legal drugs.0

Uhm... I thought it was VERY accurate, and that's why I posted it!
The fridge part especially... I caught myself and friends staring into the wonderful abyss of the fridge on many, many occasions.
I mean, of course, not everyone who smokes is like this. Highs vary depending on the quality of the weed and the amount smoked and your current mood. However, I can heavily identify with most of this video, including the extreme (but stupidly enacted) paranoia over the cops. Oh, the lengths we would go to to be "covert"...
Stereotypes may be biased, but they always contain some truth!0 -

Most people have a hard time dealing with their stress in ONLY healthy ways. If it's not a substance they're using, it's subtler / less conscious actions like yelling, driving too fast, punching things, working out so hard they injure themselves, sleeping all day or not at all, being antisocial, never wanting to be alone... or of course, overeating, which is why a lot of us are here0 -
Also, because I value my lungs too much. Yes it's natural and yes there are no (well, shouldn't be any) additives, but inhaling smoke still is not good for you, no matter how you try to spin it!
This is very very true, and one point that I get annoyed stoners are always trying to make. Smoke is smoke is smoke is smoke, and even though there have been no official links from marijuana to cancer, there ARE links to emphysema and other lung diseases.
THC in and of itself has no drawbacks except developing a slight dependency, but it's so slight that there aren't even any proper "withdrawal" symptoms, just a couple days of being cranky while your system resets.
If you were to ingest marijuana using butter made from THC, there would really be no harm to your body long-term. Same with using a nebulizer or vaporizer. We actually purchased a vaporizer last year, but it was such a finnicky device to use that we'd always get impatient and just go back to the bowls :laugh:0
