You can't just have one.....

I made this because we all have those foods that if we eat a small piece, the rest of it will soon follow! It can be a healthy food or a junky food. For me, I can't just have 1 wheat thin, I realized this when I realized I almost ate the entire box.....oopsies.
Anyway, what about you?

Wheat Thins and Cheetos. I truly feel that they have been calibrated in such a way that it is very hard to stop eating them if you're just sitting around with a box/bag. I've read about how the industry makes those kinds of snacks, too, and it is pretty crazy. To think that perfect makeup and crunch leads you to that zen place where you forget how much you have eaten and never get full...scary.
I love Wheat Thins and hummus. Seeing how much a portion is measured out is so disappointing, but I'll never give that combo up.0 -
Cereal.
THIS!!! I just CAN'T have only one bowl of cereal, I seriously can't help myself. So I just don't buy any.0 -
Pretty much any form of junk food. Ice cream, chips, cake. I have no self control so I try to buy things in small packages.0

Can't have just one slice of pizza.0

Today I was like, "Wheat thins are okay, I mean, I'll only eat a few...."

Ugh. This. I stopped buying box cereal years ago. Sometime as a treat I'll buy the individual serving honey but cheerios. My husband mocks me that I think cereal is a treat, but it totally is for me. I'd rather eat cereal than ice cream.0 -

^^^^^ This: fritos, cheetos, tostitos, potato chips, pretzels. A few become many. My mind says "no" while my mouth is saying "yes".0 -
Rice Krispie treats ...... dang, why do they have to make these stupid little snack bars?
It's okay ... the bars are so small (at least that's what I tell myself) ....... 3/4 of a box later :grumble:0 -
The new Sunkist Blends Trail Mix. Oh my, so tasty!!0
-
Oh god...cupcakes, cookies, chips, pretty much anything unhealthy is so hard for me to have just one of.0

Honestly, peanutbutter cups are such a weakness for me, if someone pulls one out, it's a "Now you see it, now you don't" situation. <.< >.>0

Notice what all these foods have in common? Sugar/and or wheat/corn. Sugar and grain (particularly wheat) are addictive. When you eat some, you always want more. I cut out sugary foods (and that includes processed foods that contain hidden sugar) and all gluten-containing grain (which is everything but the odd bowl of steel-cut oats and the occasional serving of rice). The most addictive are foods that contain both sugar and gluten. Wheat Thins actually have quite a bit of sugar in them as well as wheat.
From Livestrong: "...Wheat Thins contain...ingredients to improve flavor. In order from greatest to least, the flavor-enhancing ingredients of Wheat Thins are sugar, malt syrup, invert sugar and salt. Malt syrup is a thick substance akin to molasses derived from barley and corn. Invert sugar is sucrose divided into fructose and glucose, then mixed. This mixture is sweeter than sucrose, while retaining moisture and consistency.

Yep...that is me too...cheetos, chips, fritos...can't stop! Especially if there is dip too...0

Recently, tortilla chips are my binge food. Unfortunately, hubby also bought a wicked can of Original Pringles - I apparently can't just eat one of those, either.
Trainer suggests eating avocado or almonds (because the binges indicate a need for fats), which works moderately well, but sometimes the chips won't stop calling me. :-}0 -
......serving of broccoli.
pshaw ~ I mean glass of wine! :drinker:0 -

Siding with bacon. Yes, I have eaten that entire package of bacon. And it was delicious. I tend not to keep snack foods in my house, came from a family of snackers, I know what happens to that bag no matter how big or small.0

I am a Wheat Thin junky too, more than sweets or anything!!0
-
