Reducing cellulite by summer.......

Summer of 2014, that is? Like, between July and September, somewhere along those lines?
See I never had it until I gained about 20 - 25 pounds over the course of a couple years and then BAM, it was there. My Mom never had any until she gained weight either, and my younger sister only has a little bit, but she's put on a tiny bit of weight recently, too. So I don't think it's really in my genetics to have it when I'm at a healthy weight.
I'm about 148 now and 5'3" and 1/2 tall. I used to weigh 117 - 125 and that's what my goal is now.....the number on the scale doesn't concern me too much though, I Just want to reduce my body fat.
I'm eating at a 15% cut from my TDEE and working out about 4x a week, doing the 30 Day Shred, and then 25 - 30 minutes of weights. Lots of squats, lunges and deadlifts, including jumping squats and lunges, too. My diet is good, lots of chicken, eggs, nuts, fruits and vegetables, with only an occasional, small treat. I have a jug that's 32 oz and I try to drink at least 3 of those worth of water.
Does this sound possible, at all?

Sounds fairly reasonable. Weight lifting amd cardio with a -15% Calorie deficit should work wonderfully for you.0

Thank you! I'm trying to be realistic by giving myself over a year to accomplish this instead of hoping to see results in a month or so. I know it takes time to change your body and see big changes, so I'm not going to pressure myself to get this done really fast and wind up disappointed, or stressed.0 -
It is awesome that you are approaching this realistically. Lift heavy and eat properly and your body will be absolutely stunning in a year.0

I had major cellulite on my thighs and butt for about 2 years leading up to, during, and immediately after my pregnancy. There's really nothing you can do to reduce it other than just fat loss--as that's all cellulite is: unevenly distributed fat. I had pretty much accepted that I would always have it, but after a year of losing all my baby weight, I looked in the mirror one day and realized I hadn't seen any dimples for a long time! It had sort of just melted away along with the fat I lost.
So the good news is, even thought it is genetic (I got it from my mom) doesn't mean you are doomed to have it forever. It will go away along with the weight. Keep doing what you are doing, and you'll get there!0 -

Well I feel like it isn't genetic for me since no women in my family have it unless we're a little overweight, so here's hoping that when I lose weight and fat, I'll lose my cellulite, too. Thanks for this!0 -

Working on it as we speak. Lose the fat first and then work on toning and strength training.0

It is all about fat loss, but for me I had it at 105 pounds. It was when I gained muscle by lifting heavy that I got rid of it - pretty much all gone now. Deadlifts, lunges, squats, with HEAVY weights, no light Jillian Michaels weights. And of course a stellar diet, then yes, it is completely doable.0

I do the 30DS with 10 lb weights, and the rest of my weight lifting is done with 15 - 30 lb weights.

I had it as a skinny teenager and had it really bad as an overweight adult. It has gotten better with weight loss but I still have some on the backs of my legs and butt. And that's with being 5'8'' 132 lbs. So for some of us, it's genetics. I am hoping to further reduce it with really heavy lifting as this has made a big difference in just the last 4 weeks.0
