New Equipment at the Gym...what is it?

Hey Guys! My gym has this cardio machine that I'm really enjoying...but I have no idea what it is called. It seems like a cross between and elliptical and stair master. If you keep your strides short, then its more of a stair master motion, but if you lengthen your stride then its more of an elliptical motion. Does anyone know what this is?

I did that for the first time today! HUGE, "Wtf is this, I almost died." thing, cause I thought it was an elliptical and almost fell when it did something else. So, bumping for curiosity! haha

Our gym has it. They still consider it an elliptical but the manufacturer is Precor. I just discovered it myself today and it was a fantastic workout!

Willing to bet it's an arc trainer. Gives you a great burn! Hardest cardio workout the gym's ever given me

We have those at our YMCA - they used to be just like the ones in the picture and my co-workers and I nicknamed it "Cyber Death" - they've since replaced them with fancy Precor models, but they're still a killer workout.

Sounds like the same one our gym has. It's like climbing up hills in deep sand. Definite workout.

Have something similar, called a Summit Climber, and made by Life Fitness.

Thanks for the help guys, I've googled searched the names you all have suggested and found it! Its an Adaptive Motion Trainer from Precor. Though it looks like it may be similar to the Arc Trainer. However we don't have those at my college gym.

How do I share a picture of it?

that machine is a beast!! I actually own one, and man, I can do hours on an elliptical at the highest level, but 5 minutes on the summit trainer and I want to die!

Wouldn't it be quicker if you asked an employee at the gym? Or maybe read the label and manufacturer on the machine then google it?

you find the picture you want on a website(google) then right click the pic and go to properties, then copy the URL, come back here and put in front and behind the URL but make the img lower case and there you go.

Thank you Railr0aderTon! Thats the new machine. I think I may in be love with it!

@Casey: I use the gym at my college and they only employ other students to work there. They are great with the admin side of things but the ones I've talked to didn't even know there were new machines. And all of the machines simply say Precor.

Those are awesome, makes for a good burn. My long legs like those. A normal eliptical has a short stride.

Too funny... they didn't even know there were new machines. Sounds like you've got an answer though. I've never heard of these machines.
