Which do you prefer and why?
I am an avid coffee drinker but I really feel like I might need to make a sub because of health benefits and whatnot. I am okay with tea but would always prefer a cup of coffee.

I can do both, depends on how bad I need the caffeine. Green tea has great health benefits, doesnt have as much caffeine as coffee but worth a good try.0
-
What would you suggest to make it a little more "tolerable"?0
-
I drink both, but I drink green tea way more than coffee. At most, I'll have one cup of coffee a day, which is better because I don't like to drink it without milk and sugar (or sugar substitute) or a flavored creamer.0

For the green tea, you could add a little bit of honey.0 -
Honey sounds good.
Now, this might be stupid but do you add sugar or a sweetner to tea? I'm really looking to switch which is why I have many questions lol0 -

Why I don't see why not, people do it with black tea to make iced tea or sweeten it when it's hot too. You could buy some splenda and see how you like it with green tea. Or maybe even make it cold and try it that way, I've never done that before though. I love to drink the green tea just plain now, but I don't think I liked it at first - it was an acquired taste for me. I load it up with honey when I'm sick though or just want a sweet taste.0 -
Coffee, always. Jamaican if at all possible. International Delight creamer in White Chocolate Macadamia is my current favorite creamer. I absolutely hate tea, tastes like boiled lawn clippings.0
-
aha lawn clippings, tasted them before??
I have always been a coffee drinker but lately it has been making me anxious and more jittery when it never ever used too so I'm looking for an alternative.
I will look into everyone's suggestions, try something new.0 -
I like both too!! If i had to choose though id choose coffee..i love coffee lol0
-
It's tea, some people use milk and sugar, some use honey and lemon, some use fake sugar. I drink tea plain, I don't want to mess around with anything when I'm drinking tea.
Seriously, it's tea, you probably have all of the things I listed above, make a cup of tea, pour it into a few cups try a few different options and drink the one you like best.0 -
lol well thank you but I have never drank any. Never ordered it at Timmie's or Starbucks or anything. Not even kidding.0

Try the tazo green tea (they sell it at starbucks) Iy has something like lemongrass and mint... I can't stand green tea, but I could drink that stuff all day!
I don't drink coffee mostly because of what I want to add to it0 -
Mmmmmm that could be good. Might give it a try tomorow0
-
I love both equally. I drink a cup of each every morning.0

That is what also happened to me. I love coffee and still drink two cups every morning, but have switched to green tea ( hot, or room temp, usually plain, but sometimes mixed with lemon grass tea and a bit of sweetener ) and also medium strong black tea over the last few years. I sleep better and have not had an acid stomach since that change.0 -
Coffee is highly acidic and people typically put loads of really bad stuff in it just to drink it.
As long as you know the source of the green tea and it's legit, green tea has amazing healthy benefits. Just have to be careful because most of it's load with pesticides but so is coffee. So shoot for organic. I do wheat grass shots every morning. I drink green tea and other teas through out the day. If you need to sweeten, I'd use a little organic honey. Nothing artificial. Just my opinion.

Wayyyyyy too hard to choose for me! I usually have coffee for the first half of the day, but as the night creeps up, I switch over to tea. I definitely drink more tea though (I use sugar-free creamer in my coffee, but I still feel rather guilty!) so I try to drink more coffee. Usually green with lemon and stevia. Chamomile, dandelion, assorted berry, earl grey, I love them all!!0

Great thanks everyone.0

I drink both coffee and tea. I don't use sweetener or cream in either. There are many teas with extra flavors, both green and black (I tend toward the blacks). Lapsang Suchong and Russian Caravan teas are blacks with the most incredible smokey aroma/flavor. Earl Grey is found in both black and green and is flavored with bergamot - relatively mild flavor. I've found some with apricot and ginger that is very nice. Lemon flavored green tea is very nice and light flavored. Chai and orange spice (I drink both plain) are a bit bolder, but also nice. If you want to try something entirely different, yerba mate is a south american herb with a good hit of caffeine.0

Coffee/addicted.
I do enjoy a cup of green or black tea in the afternoon for comfort though. I'm British:)0 -

I have a huge collection of loose leaf flavoured teas (green, black, and white) that I brew a pitcher iced. With the right flavour (my fav is either the peach or mint) I find I do not need any sweetener.
Also, when I started dating my husband he taught me that if you brew tea too long it gets bitter, green and white tea are really prone to to this, and I haven't found a restaurant that brews them right. If you go to a place like Teavana, they tell you the right time on the bags. Don't leave the tea bag in and you might find you don't need to change anything to enjoy it!
This all being said, I still need my double shot to get me up in the morning!0 -
Believe it or not, an unsweetened green tea latte with soy milk is delicious! You can order it at Starbucks. I also want to try it with almond milk, but I haven't found the right coffee shop, yet.0

Coffee in the morning, tea in the evening....0

another idea if you want the caffeine hit, but aren't attached to having a hot beverage is to add matcha powder to a smoothie... matcha is powdered green tea, it's full of antioxidants and all the benefits of green tea only better because you consume the whole leaf!
I like a hot drink in the morning, so I don't do this anymore, but I was so addicted to caffeine that this got me through a bumpy part0 -
This is awesome, where can you get it?0
-
Great advice thank you0
-
you can get matcha at any specialty tea shop, or in china town,,,0

I use chaoji tea, it doesn't have caffeine but still gives you a boost. I use two cups a day to help me lose weight. Its available from www.chaoji.co.uk and if you use code chaojif you'll get one free pack for each you buy.0

personally i like loose tea leaves and getting what I like the smell of from Teavana. For example, they have one that smells like pumpkin pie, I tried it and it tasted exactly like pumpkin pie lol it was awesome! So have them show you different types.
White tea doesn't have a lot of caffeine so not a morning drink unless you're a early bird kind of person. Least processed, antioxidants, and helps skin and complexion the most.
Green tea has 5-10% of caffeine per cup, has tons of healthy antioxidants, help with cholesterol and skin and teeth and blood sugar. There are tones of green teas that have fruity flavors if you want something with a sweeter taste
Oolong tea is one of my favorites personally. Its about 15% caffeine per cup, semi-fermented tea leaves, and helps with weight-loss.
Black tea also yummy (I like earl grey, but have to be VERY careful with how long it steeps because it WILL get bitter very quickly). This is tea leaves that are fully fermented, 20% caffeine per cup, helps maintain cholesterol and cardiovascular function and circulatory system.
Herbal tea is made by different leaves altogether. There are three main groups: Roobios tea, Mate tea, and Herbal infusions. All are rich in vitamin C
-Herbal infusions are a mixture of different herbs, fruits, and flowers. Usually caffeine-free.
-Roobios teas is a healthy source of vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. Also considered as red tea. Helps with promoting digestion, support immune system, and promoting healthy skin, teeth, and bones.
-Mate teas (favorite number 3) gives the same amount of energy, although unsure about how much caffeine exactly. So if you love the pick me up from coffee, this is definitely a group of tea to try It also helps to curb your appetite which is why I love it so much and contains vitamins and minerals.
I use a tea steeper to add the tea leaves in and I bought a pack of 2 for like 4$ or less, I can't remember and you just wash it out and it's good as new.
Hopefully this helps you I got some of this information from teavana and definitely a place to help you figure out what you like and then look for different places to get cheaper tea if you'd like. I like teavana more because I can mix 2-5 teas together. So my teas have a mate, a oolong, and either a green or white tea. I like my black tea pure I'm trying to drink more coffee so I get a pick me up in the morning since I have no more tea Any other questions, I'd be happy to help with
As for sweetening, I usually add honey and I try to buy honey that was made near by so I don't get any allergies during spring. Super yummy for me.0 -
