That's all, just wanted to share. I am so proud of myself. I could barely run for a minute when I started and now I can run more than 3 miles without stopping, and I don't even feel like I am dying at the end! I rock! Sorry...no modesty when it comes to this. I am running a 5k on saturday and after todays pace (my fastest ever at 11:19/mile) I am hoping to break 33 minutes!

Congrats and good luck! Once you do a race you will totally be addicted! I love C25K and have used it for 1) get into running and 2) to ease back into running after injuries/surgery... Keep it up!!

That's really encouraging to hear! I'm starting C25K this evening and I've been nervous about it because I am not in good shape and I've never been a runner. Hope I have as much success and you did and WAY TO GO on your success!!!

Yes you do. That's fantastic. That's quite a huge accomplishment you've achieved. You should be very proud. Best of luck for this weekend's race and your goal time sounds great. Hope you reach it.

You will. I have never been a runner either, except I guess I can say I am now! I always looked at the track stars in HS and college and thought they were nuts. It has never been easy for me, and I can bet it never will, but at least I don't dread it anymore, and I find it relaxing in some respect. Nothing compares to the feeling of accomplishment after a good run. Good luck. My best tip is, that after about the 5th week, it becomes a mental game. If you think you can do it, you will. If you psyche yourself out, you won't be able to do it. Think positive. :flowerforyou:

Thank you so much! Every race I have done I have been able to shave a lot off my time. I think its just the push of having others next to me doing it. So I hope that is a realistic goal. Thank you so much for the support. I appreciate it!

Well done! That's a great achievement. I'm looking forward to being able to say exactly the same thing on Friday... just one more run to do. I'm then planning 3 runs before doing my first Park Run (timed) on 18th May.

Hope you do well on Saturday and good luck with your sub 33 mins :)

Sweet! I'm looking forward to this. I did day 1 of week 2 today and it wasn't bad. I have this bizarre lower calf pain though that is borderline intolerable. I was laughing as I walked off the treadmill today because it hurt so badly. I'm have an "assessment" (w/e that means) with a personal trainer on Friday to see if it's something in my form that is causing such a problem. I'm also going to try new shoes. So annoying b/c I really love the program so far and I don't want to stop!!

OMG!! I had the same thing in week 2! I got fitted for new shoes, it helped a bit, but then I bought zensah compression sleeves for my calves and I have run with no pain ever since. They are a godsend to me! Good Luck. You can do it!

Thanks... Do you know I have been so focused on the Park Run that I hadnt even thought about the fact that I finish c25k on Friday until I read your post...

You are right though! It is something to celebrate and be proud of. Sometimes I think we can get so focused on something that we forget to celebrate the victories along the way. Thanks for reminding me :)

Rub the bottom of your feet and calves with a tennis ball before and after a run. I had this for the first few weeks and mercifully, it's gone now.

    To the OP: Congratulations!
