Muscle weights THE SAME as fat!

1 kilo of coke is the same a 1 kilo of weed is the same as 1 kilo of meth.0

They do weigh the same, the muscle just takes up less space on the body, and fat takes up more.0

On the moon, I weigh 26 lbs.
On Mars, I weigh 60 lbs
On Venus, I weigh 145 lbs
On Jupiter, I weigh 378 lbs
On Pluto, I weigh 10 lbs
On Saturn, I weigh 146 lbs
On Uranus, I weigh 142 lbs
I hope they have MPF on Jupiter... that place is rough... and windy, I hear. Also, I bet my vert jump might actually be impressive on Pluto (I know it's not a planet anymore ).
On Mercury, I weigh
On Neptune, I weigh
So basically losing weight is irrelavent, because of your example that you posted regarding the effects of gravity that one mass has on another; Say the mass of the rotaing planet affecting the mass thats on it! (ME) So I propose that we forget all about focusing on our weight loss and start focusing on our body mass!!! Or move to the moon!:laugh:0 -

Maybe that's why they call it BMI.0 -
Not true. Weight varies from one planet (or gravitation field} to the next. Mass is constant and does not change.0

In the vacuum of space, I weigh nothing.
Oh, and no one can hear me scream.0 -

$12,000 - $30,000 vs $2500 - $5000 vs $35,000-$50,000
Not the same.0 -
Actually, their weight depends on how far each is from the center of the earth and/or a massive body. . so. . in actual fact your puppy probably weighs more than Mt. Kilimanjaro, since the base altitude of Kilimanjaro is over a mile above sea-level (unless your puppy is also more than a mile above sea level).0

Mass in the contect of volume but not density... thats a seperate subject. for example, a balloon filled with air is going to fall at a slower rate that a rock of the same size and volume because of density!0 -

What I meant was the mass of a single object is constant. Density is simply mass divided by volume, which clearly can change.0 -
Mass is something physicists are still trying to understand.
Matter is anything that has mass and takes up shape.
Mass has no formula. It is a basic building block.
However because mass is a building block its used in many important equations such as density.
Newton 2nd Law describes Force
as the product of mass and acceleration
F = ma
If we use the acceleration due to Earth's gravity ( g) we have weight.
W = mg
Einstein also uses mass in the most famous formula
E = m c ²
Here mass is relates Kinetic Energy ( the energy of motion) to velocity.
Kinetic Energy is written as
KE = 1/2 m v²
Which says that a object with mass has a Kinetic Energy which is exponentially related to its velocity.
E = m c ² Is that relationship as the object approaches the speed of light, which is the constant, c in physics.
To give you an idea how fast that is...
c = 3.00 x 10 ^ 8 m / s
or 186,000 mi / s0 -

Ok, I'll give you that. Observable mass can change depending on the relative motion of inertial frames between the observer and the subject.0 -

You are not the wisest of posters here.
1kg of fat = 1kg of muscle
in other words, a balancing scale will balance and not tip one way or the other.
ps - it is "weighs"

I fell in love with physics years ago. /sigh that I don't use it in my job anymore. Thank you MPF for letting me relive my glory days.0 -
